I don’t know about you, but the first half of 2019 re-awakened trauma for me. Specifically, childhood sexual trauma that I have been healing from my entire life. Grand rising family...my #selfcare is my top priority. Taking the time to detox & meditate to release toxins from my body is imperative for MY survival. Infrared sauna is the perfect way to do that. The sun rises and sets... some days it can feel like that is the only certainty I see. 🌤 I try to build up tolerance for uncertainty 💪 Uncertainty can trigger anxiety. We could come across something that makes us feel unsure of what will happen. What we say to ourselves can cause our brain to produce more anxiety. 🧠😬 . . For example: -Waiting for medical test results. . -A loved one calls us and says they need to talk. . -Money/job uncertainty . . Practice getting comfortable in this uncertainty. It’s normal to get a spark of anxiety with uncertainty but what do you then think? - . -I know the medical results are bad - I know my loved one is mad at me? -I know I’m going to lose my job. This kind of thinking during the uncertainty raises anxiety! ⚡️ . . I try to take these thoughts captive: -My dr is just being cautious with me. If I need anymore care they will direct me and I will have support and strength. . -My loved one wants to talk... that is okay I can deal with whatever they want to say. . -I am a hard worker, if I find myself out of work I will survive. . Say to yourself: I am experiencing uncertainty and I’m okay. Take a deep breath and ride out this feeling. Experience it... learn to not fear it. Become familiar with it, because this is life. Take care of yourself. Hooray for the good days 🤘🎉, I took care of myself today, spent time with a dear friend by the river in the sunshine and got the best haircut I’ve ever had. I also decided to take the next leap in my surface design endeavor by attending a 3 day retreat here in Asheville at the most beautiful Grove Park Inn. Pretty jazzed about life right now, how’s your day going friends?
NEW EALING YIN CLASS ALERT! 🙌🏼 . I’m delighted to share with you that i’m launching a new weekly Yin Yoga class in Ealing! 🎉 . We start tomorrow (Tues 4th June) at 6pm and continue every Tuesday. The studio is On Route Health @onroutehealth (just next to South Ealing tube station). . Yin is a beautiful practise, with long holds targeting the release of tension in the body as well as soothing our busy minds. It’s great for runners, cyclists and office workers too. For me, it has become the essential antidote to city life! 💆🏻♂️💆🏻♀️ .
