Anachronism. . Sometimes when I’m disheartened by our dying planet, I’m reminded that with enough time, everything we now hold dear will be swallowed again by cosmic oceans, no matter our actions in this moment. . And that’s ok.
Ok y’all, I played with the arrangement and variety of embellishments as well as the paint colors and highlights on this piece all day yesterday. It is way beyond subtle any way I go. It just doesn’t feel right to me. Maybe because it’s such a small canvas? Things I’ve learned from this project ... 1)I don’t like extra small mica flakes (not pictured), reminds me of glitter, and I don’t like using glitter in my pieces. Metallics yes, glitter no. 2)I don’t particularly care for gloss medium. I used it on my waves to creative more texture and the high gloss is very unappealing to me. In this picture I’ve tried toning it down with a thin coat of light gold pearl. 3)Less is more on a small canvas. 4)Some originals should be left as one-of-a-kind beauties. 5)When I rush to get things done, it may take twice as long as it would have if I had just taken my time. And as much as I hate unfinished projects, I think I’m going to have to set it aside for awhile and revisit it in a week or so with a new perspective. I’d love to hear some lessons you’ve learned this week... . . . . . #seashells#starfish#oceanart#beachy#waves#goldpaint#goldlove#artfow#paletteknifepainting#turquoise#mixedmediaart#embellishments#atxart#austinartist#texasartist#oceanart#oceaninspired#art_spotlight #artprocess#creativeprocess#artlife#colorpop#colorcrush#abstractartist#composedchaosart
