My daily challenge quilting is done for today. I got some of the border free motion quilted and more sewing down of the binding. You can begin to see some of the scrappy backing I made for this quilt. I like to make fabric from my scraps because I do. I know it’s odd. 😁 Because of the size of my cutting mat, I make rolls of scrappy fabric about 15” or 38cm tall. When it’s time for a quilt backing, I take out my rolls and see what will work on the back. Sometimes it looks fabulous, sometimes it’s just okay.
Phew!! I finished my backing for my #ingridsgarden quilt. I had some major anxiety over this thing. It took me a while to design it, and then I was too scared to just cut. Once I was almost finished, an I saw that it was going to work out, I actually started to like the way it looked! This thing is massive. In the second photo, my husband is holding it, he’s 6’2”, and he can’t even get it off the ground. I think it’s about 98 x 106. I’m so excited to get this one finished and on my bed!! #theothersideofthequilt
