Right now I am really happy I decided to ring in my 40th with friends. They'll be arriving shortly. My sister, @messchef , is already here and it is time for a quick espresso to keep us going for the night. T minus 30 minutes and counting till we up crack open the bubbly. Happy Saturday night folks! . . . #birthdayeve
Unbuilding completely eliminates the need to cut old growth. We ‘mine’ what’s already been felled. This is more than a business, it is a movement. Thank you to our friends @ancientforestalliance for showing both the destruction and magnificence of these incredible organisms. #repost @ancientforestalliance ・・・ Check out these magnificent and brutal photos! Massive logging of some of the grandest old-growth forests on Earth is taking place in the Nahmint Valley near Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, coordinated by the BC government's own logging agency, BC Timber Sales (BCTS), which has auctioned off over 300 hectares of these magnificent ancient forests for logging in the Nahmint.
Got these two wood pieces at a salvage spot in an antique store awhile back. Started working on them yesterday. Was able to pop the piece out of the framed one so I now have a matching set plus a frame. They still need a little finishing work before paint, but I am thrilled with the progress. #salvage#repurpose#antique#chalkpaint
“Barn” doors hung. Another great find from @coastal_market 💕. The doors originally came from the captain’s quarters of a boat and were painted a bunch of colors. We preferred a cleaner look, so a frame was added to make the doors big enough to cover the bedroom opening. Then they were sanded and painted and the original hardware (which is ahhhhmazing!) was cleaned and reinstalled. So pleased with the outcome😊
It’s -22C today. I’m not sure if it’s physically too cold to cut wood but I’m soft so it’s definitely too cold to cut wood. . . Can’t wait for warmer temps.. atleast around 0C to cut this huge walnut log!
Now here ya have a few salvage beams I just brought in the store that are perfect for fireplace mantels. All the beams are kiln dried and ready to go so stop on down to my shop on Cookman in Asbury Park and check them out along with all my other furniture. #asburywoodcraft
There is something about a pile of metal and wood boxes that gets our brains all creative - there are so many things you can do! From simple decoration pieces, to storage and incorporating into custom builds!
@conjunktionjunction challenged their followers to share 4 antique pieces from their home that they actually use. I decided to participate! The coffee grinder was my Gma's. It sat on her mantel and always had a fun surprise inside when I visited. I inherited it and I actually use it as intended for grinding my coffee when I want a very course grind. The postal scale gets used to weigh items listed on my shopify. The milk glass S&P shakers do get used as intended, as does most of my milk glass collection. And my most prized possession is my huge, cast iron cauldren. It was also my Gma's, then my Aunt Jen's and now it sits in my living room where I can see it every day. I used to play in it when I was little. Now it holds snuggly blankets. What is your favorite antique or vintage piece that you use in your home?? Please share!!
Happy weekend friends! I thought it was only fitting to share a photo from the past this morning. @thefoundcottage is having their 3 year celebration today so I'm feeling all sentimental. Growth came quickly and we outgrew this little building in the first year! @lizmariegalvan and I were hanging at the shop together on this last day and it was so surreal to both of us. This is where it all started! So thankful for this journey! We would love to have you join us as we celebrate today ❤
