My #10yearschallenge is like a wave. From 2012 - 2016 was really bad in terms of being lazy and eating a lot of junk and crappy food, basically absolutely unhealthy lifestyle. Thankfully I discovered running by the end of 2016. I realized a better way to move forward in my life with a lot of positivity. Run is done! 💪🏻 Haven’t posted in a few days but I’m still alive and well. Eating mindfully and staying active. . . . To be honest, I did not want to run tonight. That’s the hard thing about evening workouts for me. I push it off until it’s super late and then I find an excuse. I can make all the excuses in the world but the one thing that will make me get up and just do it is this: “can you run? Yes. Then do it because you can.” There are so many fellow runners that physically cannot run right now due to injuries and my heart aches for them. I know what it feels like not to be able to run. So here I am, running for myself because I can, and running for those that can’t, but will hopefully soon be able to again. ♥️ Move your body because YOU CAN, not because you HAVE to.
Throwback to my first marathon. Many people think the marathon is the Holy Grail and only means to fitness or bad-assery, but studies show that moderate mileage (think training for a 5K) might provide a better way to exercising for health. More isn’t always better.
