If you have been on the receiving of a break up and have a broken heart, I have a message for you from my own experience: . You are only really in a battle with YOURSELF. You are more frustrated  with the fact that you allowed yourself to be treated that way: upset with letting yourself go, losing who you are and sacrificing so much. But I applaud you for your courage to wear your heart on your sleeve, it's the only way to truly experience LOVE. The challenge is within you not against the other. The mission is to REGAIN your OWN  TRUST, get yourself BACK, and rebuild the BEAUTIFUL  RELATIONSHIP you once had with yourself. And it will HAPPEN. . Watch this video and tell me again why it is that you can’t workout because of your kids? I’ll wait. ⌛️ I’m not trying to be a jerk but if this doesn’t prove that you CAN fit a workout into your busy day - IF YOU REALLY WANT TO - then I don’t know what would. ✌️ Is it annoying? HELL YES. I get up early to try to do my 30-40min before they are up, but as all parents know, kids are not on your schedule, you’re on theirs. Sometimes your plans get thwarted and then, YOU HAVE A CHOICE to make.👼👹 1️⃣You can give up {I’ve done that enough} or 2️⃣you get them to play or start breakfast and get through it the best you can, allowing for the interruptions, chaos, and usually a crapload of mess. 🤷🏼‍♀️ We know 2 things: SOMETHING is better than nothing and your kids {and friends, family, coworkers} are always watching. 👀 I am proud that my kids know this is part of my life - that they see me taking time for myself and show them how it’s possible. Allie told her daycare teachers that Mommy uses weights, and Anderson loves to listen to my teammates and take pics when he has a healthy meal or does something active. 💓 Take some time to be real with yourself. Do you REALLY WANT to be active, eat well, etc. or do you just say it because, that’s what adults do? If you DO truly want a change for yourself, I can help you figure out how it can work for you! I promise it won’t be easy at first, but it gets SO much easier with time, and it’s way better than the cycle of stopping/starting {been there, done that, many times}. 👇🏼 You are worth it. You can do it. You DO have the time and ability. Do you have the courage to change and be vulnerable? 🗣 P.S. I left the sound even though it’s been sped up, because you were hear the AMOUNT OF NOISE I also have to deal with. It’s nonstop and some days it REALLY effing annoys me, and I get snappy and my workout suffers. That’s life. This is 0% about perfection and 100%
Sunday evening is my time to get ready for the week ahead. Since my husband works long shifts Sun-Tues, I’m a solo-parent for 3 days and getting through Sunday is always a WIN since there’s always a long to-do list and it’s a challenge to give both kids attention while also checking those boxes off. ✔️ To start my week off on a good note, tonight I’m skipping the evening snack I’ve been turning to for a few weeks - totally a result of frustration and fatigue with the sleep chaos that’s been going on in toddler-ville - and reaching for some new herbal tea instead.  I’ve been feeling a bit off lately and I know it has a lot to do with my shifty evening habits on top of the crap-tastic weather {bring back the ☀️} so I need to kick my own ass to snap out of it and get back to my happy place. 💁‍♀️ With 2 weeks left in the workout program I’ve been doing, I’m not about to quit because of a few rough weeks. NON SCALE VICTORY 🚨  I went into the grocery store and was WHAMMED by the Halloween leftovers. It was actually surprising how much candy was left and for a KILLER DEAL.  I am a sucker for a bargain so normally I would have grabbed a few boxes and undoubtedly eaten them over the next month or two, but I said NOT TODAY SATAN!👹 Instead I picked up some cute window clings for next year and a little costume for dress-up play, plus one bag of vegan organic fruit snacks for the kiddos - which we really didn’t need BUT hey, can’t be perfect and they were so discounted! Like candy in your trick or treat bowls, October is gone!  On one hand, that felt like a looong month for me, but now I feel like it flew by. That seems to be how things go as you get a little older and really start to appreciate the days and weeks more. Anyone else feel like that?  November is only 30 days and I know we are already thinking about he holidays and the chaos, excitement, and maybe even the stress they being, but my goal is to live more in the moment this month rather than getting caught up in the impending whirlwind that is December.  Despite the unfavourable weather ahead ❄️ and this weekend’s time change (a parent’s nightmare), today presents a new month, a fresh start and an opportunity to assess how you want to end the year.  My November goals: 🔸hang pictures that have been sitting for 1.5 years since we moved🖼 🔸paint en-suite, update towel racks and organize my bathroom ‘stuff’ 🔸Post more consistently on IG and FB and engage with YOU more!🙋🏼‍♀️ 🔸Finish round 2 of my current workout program, incorporate more stretching and yoga for my tight muscles🧘🏼‍♀️ AND add more cardio to prep for my next program that uses a STEP! Do you meal plan?  I’ll admit, I am not great at consistently meal planning, prepping ahead or even using the food in my house. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I do like to cook. I love grocery shopping {esp without kids}. I love having a plan and easy solutions, but I am lazy and doing that work ahead seems like a lot of effort. 🙈  Life is much easier when I DO make the effort though; there is less time staring Into the cupboards and fridge, fewer times I’ll reach for the easy nutrient-lacking foods {ahem, pasta}, and less waste of food and my money! How cute are we?👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Thanksgiving 2018  It’s really easy to get caught up in the chaos of our day to day; we get busy and tired, frustrated and overwhelmed, and often miss out on the simple moments. So, when we make the effort to spend quality time as a family unit, just the four of us, it’s such a treat.  When we get outside and allow ourselves to be truly present in the moment and enjoy the world through the eyes of our kids, it’s so refreshing. I feel grounded, peaceful, and happy. {Ok, on this particular day, a glass of wine at the Thanksgiving Festival helped me relax, but it’s also so freaking awesome that we can have a drink and watch the kids play from the side.} We are moving into a new chapter without babies, so not only are THEY finding new independence but WE are regaining some of ours! 🙌 I know ‘they’ say not to wish moments away but I have a really good feeling about the next several years; babies are damn cute but that shit is hard in a way that challenged me mentally, more than I care to admit {turns out, I can’t function on a few hours of sleep}. I know it won’t necessarily get easier but I feel much more prepared to tackle parenting now that I am filling my own cup again and finding more balance in my mind and actions.  Next up will be pouring more into our marriage; it has taken some hits in the last several years but has survived what is undoubtedly one of the biggest mountains any marriage will face {👶🏼👶🏼} and with some TLC, will come out stronger than ever!  Just imagine if we took the time to have these moments more often...I’d be so damn zen.🧘🏼‍♀️ You better believe that’s a new family goal for the Bean fam! 👉 I’d love to know: What are some things you like to do as a family with little ones? Believe me, if there was ever someone looking for a shortcut, it’s me.🙋‍♀️ I’m lazy, yo. I love naps and fast food, and wrapping myself in blankets, preferably with snacks on all sides. Unfortuantely, that does not always do a body good, nor does it stimulate the mind much, although relaxing and some #hyggetime should still make a regular appearance, it can’t be the only thing.  When I put on my clothes, play with my kids, look in the mirror, go out on a date or try something new, I want to FEEL confident and strong. And yes, I want to look at myself and think {say aloud, to myself} ‘yassss women’. Oh - and I want to lower my chances of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and whatever other fun ailments my family has suffered from.  Whatever it is that motivates you, do not be ashamed to say it out loud and want that for yourself! However, I’m sorry to tell you that it does take some work and that any shortcuts you take will be just that, they won’t help you live that balanced lifestyle where you feel good physically AND mentally for the long haul.  So even though I don’t want to do cardio or planks, or would prefer grilled cheese over salad, I know that when I’m done I feel like a damn rockstar AND all those things add up over time and will keep me on the path of happy & healthy with a perfect amount of reckless indulgence mixed in. ⚖️ #balancedlifestyle #regainyourself #haveitall #workhardplayhard #mombod #getoffthecouch #noshortcuts
What is the thing I hear, from SO many, for why they aren’t active?  Time⏰  I don’t have time. Well, my friend, I am here to tell you that you DO have time, you just have to make it! #sorrynotsorry🤷  We all have the same 2️⃣4️⃣ hours in a day, it’s how we CHOOSE to use them that is different from one to another. Now sure, I totally understand that some people have much more restricted time than others; I’ve been a commuter mom who had a kid in daycare for 50+ hours a week, was so exhausted I could barely make a meal let alone really cook real food, and I often collapsed on the couch as soon as he was in bed. I GET IT. But, I also felt like I was dead inside and knew that I had to make a change before that dark hole swallowed me right up.  So, I started exercising at home as soon as my son was in bed, started planning simple meals I could prepare ahead and use for leftovers, and dropped some of my BS excuses that were just a cover up for laziness and fear.
