*Book review* 🌻 "An offbeat yellow back" by Aditi Bakshi. A note of thanks to the author, @aditibakshi for providing with this copy in return for an honest review. 🌻 A collection of short stories and funny anecdotes, that perfectly resonates with the millennials of today's life where everyone is slogging to make ends meet at a desk job. The ones that live on peanuts and yet spend recklessly on weekends because how else would one 'relax'. And once the weekend is over, they are back to the mundanity of their lives, slowly giving way to insomnia and anxiety in hopes of life to turn exciting somehow. 🌻 The witty and humorous way in which the everyday life of an average office-goer is described especially in a city like Bangalore make the stories all the more interesting and relatable. From topics such as teenage crushes to the hypocrisy of Indian society where a girl is expected to adhere to a 6 pm curfew, to problems of a daily commute and living a life buried in one's phones, the various stories touch on so many varied topics each described in a sarcastic way, that it is bound to make you laugh. 🌻 Being a millennial, living in a city like Bangalore, and willing away my days at a 9-to-5 job, made me chuckle even more! Kudos to the author for penning down such stories about ordinary life in such a lively and clever manner! . . . . #qotd: What does your daily life look like? Are you a student, enjoying the exploits of being a teenager and most of your days are spent around classes and assignments? Or probably someone who works from home as a freelancer? Tell me more about some of the problems that you face in everyday life, big or small?😅 . . . . #ilovebooks#goodreads#epicreads#booksofinstagram#bookgeek#booktag#novel#igbooks#bookgasm#readingforlife#reading#bookinstagram#bookblogger#booksforlife#bibliophile#bookworm#bookstagram#unitedbookstagram#bookstagramista#booknerd#mybookfeatures#bookishfeatures#bookstagramfeatures
Buon Lunedì a tutti!
How stunning is this page by @abelleinabookshop of the blank bookshelf in our Novel Companion?! ----- I absolutely love seeing how you guys use the Companion and the Planner in your every day lives! I started creating these books because I wanted a way to organize my own reading life and couldn't find what I wanted from anywhere else. So I figured, why not just make it myself and maybe other readers will like it too? But I wanted it to be about more than just being organized, I also wanted it to be an easy, little creative adventure for anybody, even if you didn't think you were creative. Creativity has SO many health and emotional benefits so even if it doesn't come naturally, just sitting down for a bit of time and trying something new, can be really rewarding. So that's what the Novel Companion and Always Fully Booked planners are about: combining our love of books with a little bit of organization and a little bit of creativity and a whole lot of love. ------- Also, I know a lot of you have asked about the Novel Companion: they are currently sold out but they will be restocked when the brand new 2019 Always Fully Booked planner launches early next week! More info on the planner coming soon! I read this book two months ago and eventhough I loved it, I feel that I did not read it properly enough, that I missed out on a lot of details. I will read it again soon and this time, will also write a reflection on it.
