QOTD: What are you hoping to get for Christmas, Hanukkah, or any other holiday celebration?⠀ ❄️⠀ I’m getting the super practical gift of winter tires for my car. 😂 Super appreciated. 😁But I’m also getting a new Kristen Ess curling iron and straitened set which will be lovely! Books are always on my list, though! When I was little, there would always be a large, rectangular package under the tree - my pile of books all wrapped up. 😃⠀ ❄️⠀
Uhm...have you guys seen these little books? 👀 I love them!! I had to get one to keep in my purse. I mean seriously they are so cute and the perfect size when you are somewhere and have nothing to read but don’t feel like being on your phone! I love it!! . . #smallbooks#papertowns#johngreen#target#tiny#fitsinmyhand
Thank you @getredpr and @stmartinspress for my free copy! 🎄 This last year of reading has shown me how much of a mood/seasonal reader I am. And how much joy i find in what I’m reading when the book aligns with these two things. 🎄 January and the winter months following usually put me in the mood for historical fiction. When I look back on previous winters, these are the stories that really stand out! I have quite a few really exciting historical fiction stories lined up for winter 2019 and I can’t wait to share them with you! 🎄 Master of His Fate by Barbara Taylor Bradford is the first title, recently released, in a new historical fiction saga! it sound really interesting and just the type of story I might be in the mood for come January! 🎄 Synopsis: Victorian England is a country of sharp divides between rich and poor, but James Lionel Falconer, who spends his days working at his father’s market stall, is determined to become a merchant prince. Even as a child, he is everything a self-made man should be: handsome, ambitious, charming, and brimming with self-confidence. James quickly rises through the ranks, proving himself both hardworking and trustworthy, and catching the eye of Henry Malvern, head of the most prestigious shipping company in London. But when threats against his reputation – and his life - begin to emerge, James will have to prove that he truly is the master of his fate. 🎄 . . . @btbnovelist #historicalfiction#tuesdaymotivation#newbook#bookstagram#bookstagrammer#bookblogger#bookish#igbooks#igreads#readersofinstagram#booksofinstagram#igpost#bookphoto
I have 8 books to go to meet my Goodreads goal! I’m going to give it a good ol college try but not stressing if I don’t. Particularly because I know in my heart I read a ridiculous amount of books with Riley that would have me well surpassing it. And well I basically win because reading with Riley is my favorite thing. Except when we are reading Jingle Bells approximately 15 times a day. I’m not exaggerating. That’s how you know my love runs deeps. ANYWAYS, I ran a poll in my stories and 95% of you had really misplaced belief in me that I can read 8 books before the end of the year but, inspired by @readwithjamie posting her stack of books she wants to get to, this is what I’m planning to read before the end of the year. Currently reading Once Upon The River....which one should I read next??

Everybody's doing it, so why not?... Here's my top nine...not the ones I'd chose at all! but what do I know?!😂 But seriously I only started this account on the very last day of May this year so I'm amazed to have received all those likes and to have over 1,000 followers! More important than any of those numbers though is the fabulous community I've found here which has inspired me to read, and enjoy, more books than ever before. Thankyou everyone :)
My debut novel Her Daughter’s Mother comes out six months from today! I’m still pinching myself. Because last year this time, I nearly killed the book. My agent and I discussed starting from scratch and going in a very different direction. I was heartbroken. Over the holidays, I thought a lot about it and decided to send it to one more beta reader—someone I didn’t know—who would give me an honest opinion. She loved it and that gave me the confidence to push forward. I decided to stay true to my story and characters and find ways to address my agent’s concerns without writing an entirely different book. In January I signed for an online class with @catapult taught by the amazing @taylorlarsenauthor where I workshopped my revision. With her input and that of my fellow writers in the class, I revised it one more time before I finally sent it back to my agent. I learned a valuable lesson. There are so many stories and so many ways to tell them. Readers have different tastes and preferences. All we writers can do is be true to ourselves and our vision for the story we want to tell. • • • • • • • • • #debutauthors19 #amediting #Bookish #Bookworm #booknerd #bookaholic #bookaddict #Bookphotography #Currentlyreading #AmReading #Revisions #ILoveBooks #writerslife#writersofinstagram#writerscommunity#amwriting#womenwhowrite#amwritingmystery#writersofig#bookstagram#readersofinstagram#authors#authorsofig#authorsofinstagram#amwritingfictiorn
Hiya kiddos! Happy Tuesday! . . Q: what are some of your Most Anticipated Books for 2019? A: With the Fire on High, On the Come up, Two can keep a secret, Enchantée, Internment, and Queen of Ruin. There’s probably more but those are the ones that I can think of from the top of my head 🤣
😍😍😍😍 . . #repost @samsbookstagram ・・・ Happy Cover Reveal @alexandrasilvaauthor!! Someone Like You releases January 31st, and is up for pre order!! ✦✦✦✦✦ Dorian Anson is my friend. She's the only person who's ever questioned my smiles. My jokes. The one liners that have our friends shaking their heads at me. I've lived my life on those smiles. They never failed me, until her. I wasn't counting on her when I designed my front. I never imagined the possibility of someone like her coming into my life. The wild hair, the kind smile and those eyes that see everything. She was the girl with the beautiful soul, pretty face and whole heart. But hearts aren't made to stay whole. I watched hers break. I watched her tears fall. I watched as her world tilted on its axis and shattered at her feet. This girl. She sees me, all parts of me—the truths I try to hide, the secrets I bury. What's mine and what's not. She sees it all, and I can only hope the truth isn't too much. That she won't walk away. That she won't leave me...alone. We both have a past. We have ghosts. We have fears. I'm hoping that somehow in the end, we'll have each other too. I've never needed anyone before her, and I know I'll never want anyone else after her. There is no one like her. My pretty girl. MAJOR CHANGES for the 2019 reading challenges. Thanks to Austine of @novelknight and her amazing help, I'm able to launch this with you all. So here's the deal. . What's the same: . 1) Every month I will still post 6 book prompts for you to read and participate in the challenge 2) You'll still post your entries onto instagram by photographing the book and tagging me and using the #fnwreadchallenge hashtag. (You must follow me!) . What's changing: . 1) You must register through the sign up form, which I've linked in bio 2) You will be randomly placed into team groups. 3) in addition to posting your finished book and entries on instagram, you will now submit them through a separate form. Each book you read will earn 1 point towards your team. . What this means: . 1) I will no longer be giving away monthly prizes but instead be giving away a grand prize at the end of the year. If you finished the challenge for the month, you will receive a 10% discount code to use in the shop. 2) Even if you cannot complete the entire month, your books still count! Our editors are highlighting some of their favorite books of 2018! Zan’s featured staff rec is Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik: You know when you finish a book and think ‘That was fantastic — I want exactly that again but different?’ I thought that after I read Naomi Novik’s Uprooted, and her newest book, #spinningsilver, was the perfect answer to that need. Another beautiful fairy tale retelling from Novik with strong cultural roots and kick-ass female protagonists! This is a great addition to your TBR list!! M E E T F O R R E S T W I C K E S . Forrest Wickes is 1/3 of the ménage at the center of my historical romance coming out on January 22nd! . Forrest Wickes was powerfully built, standing at 6’2 with skin tanned from hours in the sun, fine muscles, and a pair of broad shoulders visible even under the flannel of his work shirt. The abashed figure standing in front Julie was all man. No trace of boyishness in his face, unlike the suitors who had tried their hand at courting her in New York. He yanked off the brown wide-brimmed hat he wore with a jerk of his hands, revealing hair that looked like spun gold. Julie wondered if it was as soft as it looked and her cheeks flamed at the thought. Swoon-worthy, indeed. An aquiline nose, chiseled jaw, and lips that could lead a woman astray rounded out the picture of Mr. Wickes, but it was the pair of summer sky blue eyes looking at her in apology that had Julie fighting the urge to pull out her smelling salts then and there. Julie was struck dumb at the sight of the man and could only stand silently as he apologized to her. “I meant to be here when you arrived but there was an incident, ah, just—” He jerked a thumb over his shoulder in the direction of town. I, we, had to intervene. I apologize for not meeting you.” Julie bit her lip, instantly thinking of the gunshots she had heard. “W-was it the gunshots?” she asked with wide eyes. He cleared his throat. “Yes, ma’am.” “Oh my,” Julie breathed, her hand going to her throat. “But don’t trouble yourself over it. It’s being seen to by, ah, my partner.” He held out his hands in a placating gesture before looking at the crew member and conductor as if he had just noticed them for the first time. “I thank you for bringing my fianceé safely to her destination.” “Fianceé?” the crew member squeaked. Julie scowled at the man but said nothing as Forrest nodded. “Since the New Year,” he said, and Julie warmed at the note of pride she heard
