I grew up obsessed with the Redwall books -- adventure, mysteries, drama...Really Delicious Sounding Food... 😂 It's a wonderful fictional world. I think my favorite was probably Taggarung... Or maybe Martin the Warrior, but that may just have been because the guy who voiced Martin for the dramatized audio book had a swoon-worthy voice, LOL. . Did you read Redwall? If so, which was your favorite character or story? . . . . #thechristmasstoryann18 (#seafaring books) #redwall#brianjacques#marielofredwall
From the Introduction: What passes as spontaneous “social change” is in fact an organized process of satanic possession. This development is not an isolated or recent phenomenon. Western society is based on a rebellion against God and the natural and moral order. The so-called “Enlightenment” refers to Lucifer as the “light giver.” It was an assertion of the Illuminati's determination to reject Reality -- the Creator's Design – and construct an artificial reality more conducive to their interests and perversions. This is what the Cabalist bankers mean by “remaking the world” or “changing the world.” There is no way to sugarcoat this. Satanist (Cabalist) Jews and Freemasons are waging a covert war against God and man and are close to achieving victory. Many Jews and Freemasons have been a subversive force throughout history - the real reason for anti Semitism. Of course, the majority of Jews (and Christians) aren't aware of this process of satanic possession. We have all succumbed to it. Passing as “secularism” and “humanism,” Satanism is the secret religion of the West. Funny how we blame society for being the way it is. Yet still we're reluctant on changing ourselves. That too because we are afraid that the society won't accept us. Who is the society? What is the society? It's US. We're the society. We're the people who still judge people for letting their daughters stay out till late. We're the people who raise eye brows at late marriages. We are the society that we are so afraid of. The change we want so dearly won't come from outside. Change comes from within. We are the within. We are the people who need to change our mindset. THE EMERGING NEW WORLD ORDER A depraved satanic cult called the Illuminati is waging a covert war against humanity. This is the key to understanding mankind's tragic history and current predicament. For more than a thousand years, Cabalist money lenders have conspired to usurp power from church and aristocracy, according to a plan detailed in "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion." This plan does not represent Jews, but only a small cabal of bankers who organized in Masonic secret societies. They intermarried with prominent Gentiles and formed a vast occult and criminal underground. They are stealthily constructing a totalitarian world government. Taking God's place, secularism is a transition step to their Satanism. They involve nations in needless wars and enthrall the masses with porn, violence, trivia and toys. They attack our sources of identity and love - God (religion); family (gender); country and race - in order to stymie and dehumanize us. Sounds incredible, but after reading some of these 90 short essays, you'll nod in agreement. Their goal is to control your mind. If you know the truth, they can't. Bizarre and incredible as it sounds, humanity has been colonized by a satanic cult called the Illuminati. This cult represents Masonic and Jewish bankers who finagled a monopoly over government credit which allows them to charge interest on funds they create out of nothing. Naturally they want to protect this prize by translating it into a political and cultural monopoly. This takes the form of a totalitarian world government dedicated to Lucifer, who represents their defiance of God. Thus, the people who hold our purse strings are conspiring against us. To distract and control us, they have used a vast occult network (Freemasonry) to infiltrate most organizations, especially government, intelligence agencies, education and the mass media. We are being re-engineered to serve the Illuminati. They undermine institutions like marriage and religion, and promote depravity, dysfunction, corruption and division. They have orchestrated two world wars and are planning a third. Henry Makow describes this conspiracy and shows how human history is unfolding according to Illuminati plan. Plot: Shevek, a physicist from the planet Annares, is about to leave his anarchist society to visit the planet Urras. Urras is a utopia, rich in sustainable materials compared to the desert planet of Annares. Shevek hopes to develop a formal understanding between the two planets, a task that stunts his ideologies and forces him to question what it means to exist in a society of opposing beliefs. Opinion: Although this book earned Le Guin the Hugo and Nebula awards, the components that define it as a sci-fi are illusory when compared to the arguments presented throughout Shevek's journey. Taoist motifs are layered throughout as Le Guin pulls pieces from socialism, capitalism, and communism to demonstrate two differing societies that, against their own desires, cannot exist without one another. While it can take the shape of a beautiful story at times, this is more a argumentative essay designed to make us question the definition of self against both ideology and theology. It wouldn't surprise me if this became essential reading in curriculums at some point in the future. The 'Mmph': Read this slowly. Let your brain absorb all that info juice so you can appreciate how utterly clueless we all are about ourselves as people. It's fun and definitely not depressing, I promise. #bookstagram#bookgram#books#bookish#igbooks#igreads#readersofig#booklove#ilovebooks#bookworm#booknerd#bookgeek#bibliophile#bookblog#booksbooksbooks#addictedtobooks#bookcover#reading#readmore#newbooks#read#bookcommunity#instaread#ireadya#bookstack#booknerdigan#bookstagrammar#yabooks @harpervoyagerus @harpercollinsus @harpercollinsuk

The crime families of New York have prospered in this time, but with the coming end of Prohibition, a battle is looming that will determine which organizations will rise and which will face a violent end. For Vito Corleone, nothing is more important that his family's future. In today's #booksandhotdrinkstuesday @katha_logisch asked us about bookish Christmas presents. ❄️ Well, the best bookish Christmas present undeniably is sneaking into your loved one's to-read-list (and I am pretty sure s/he has one) and hijack it. But what you shouldn't do is assuming that just because someone likes to read, you can run to the nearest bookstore and pick up a random book from their top ten bestsellers list because that will do. That's how I ended up owning a good chunk of Paolo Coelho's work. I do not enjoy reading Coelho. (But thanks, aunty!) ❄️ Although Chocolat takes place around Easter, it will always be a Christmas book for me. I used to get the latest book of #joanneharris for Christmas from my mom, so I still associate her work with glühwein, jingle bells and snow. Books were always fixed presents in my family. You could be sure that everyone would get at least one. However, my mom got tired of this certainty after a while, so she decided to spice up things a bit. I must have been around 12-13 when while opening my presents I faced packs of various kitchen tools...fancy knives, pots and pans and things I couldn't even identify. And I'll tell you a secret: I do not like cook, but when I was 13 I simply hated even the idea of it. So I thanked everyone and hoped to hide my disappointment, when my mom couldn't hold it any longer and bursted into a crazy laugh. She packed all my books and dvds in boxes of kitchen goodies (which she collected from family members and colleagues specifically for this prank over December) and wrapped those boxes as presents. Evil genius runs in our DNA. ❄️ And if you are asking yourself where the obligatory hot drink is from my picture? I drank it. I accidentally drank it before snapping this shot.🤦 ❄️ #bibliophile#winterbooks#christmasnerd#booklover#readwomen#womenwhoread#readersofig#readerslife#bookishchristmas#bookishfeatures#readeverything#reading_time #readandrelax#bookaddict
Time for another #dramadecember18 update! The prompt for this week is to read a book with LGBTQ+ themes or characters. The Laramie Project was my original pick for this category, but I had it checked out from the library for too long and had maxed out the number of renewals allowed, so I had to unfortunately return it just days before I was due to read it. BUT it turns out that my extra plays came in handy because I have a new pick: Body Awareness by Annie Baker. This story is one of her Vermont Plays, a series of plays that all take place in the same Vermont town. I’ve never read another play by Baker, but I saw “The Flick” in Chicago a couple years ago, and wow did it knock my socks off. Baker writes such realistic characters and dialogue, which I really like seeing in plays. I’m hoping to read all 4 plays in this collection, and I’m excited to see how her work translates onto the page! . Synopsys from Goodreads: "It's ‘Body Awareness’ week on a Vermont college campus and Phyllis, the organizer, and her partner, Joyce, are hosting one of the guest artists in their home, Frank, a painter famous for his female nude portraits. Both his presence in the home and his chosen subject instigate tension from the start. Phyllis is furious at his depictions, but Joyce is actually rather intrigued by the whole thing, even going so far as to contemplate posing for him. As Joyce and Phyllis bicker, Joyce's adult son, who may or may not have Asperger's Syndrome, struggles to express himself physically with heartbreaking results” . . . . . #anniebaker#bodyawareness#thevermontplays#theatre#play#plays#readmoreplays#currentlyreading#amreading#femaleplaywright#femaleauthors#bookcover#bookflatlay#bookaddict#booknerd#booklover#bookaholic#bookworm#bibliophile#readersofig#booksofig#igreads#bookgram
I’ve been reading a lot of your captions on bookstagram, and it seems like so many of us are in the same boat...you know, the one where you intentionally avoid giant books? So, for 2019 my main reading goal will be to finally tackle my stack of big books. I’ll be posting under #bigbookschallenge2019 - feel free to join in. (Let’s see if I can stay accountable.) - any recommendations on where I should start?
As evocative and moving as Charles de Lint’s Newford books, with the three-dimensional protagonists and enthralling action of Mercedes Lackey’s fantasies, Nine Gates makes our world today as excitingly strange and unfamiliar as any fantasy realm . . .and transports readers to a wondrous magical world drawn from Chinese lore and legend.⠀ ⠀ Brenda Morris has barely had time to become accustomed to the idea that she has some of the powers of the Rat, a member of the Chinese Zodiac; that her elderly, former child-star “aunt,” Pearl, is the Dragon; and that the young African-American former soldier she trains beside is the Dog. Brenda has learned that our world is not the only world and that her not-quite-Chinese ancestors came from a magical place, the Lands of Smoke and Sacrifice, created thousands of years ago by the destruction of China’s books and scholars during the time of the first Emperor.⠀ ⠀ Now, generations later, the Lands are once again at war, and the magics of the Thirteen Orphans are desperately needed. A mission to capture those powers went disastrously wrong and now the Lands’ Dragon, Tiger, Snake, and Monkey are trapped on Earth unless the Orphans can build the Nine Gates. To do that, they must first save the Four Guardians of the Land Between, who are under magical attack. Complicating things is the fact that Brenda has fallen hard for the handsome man who is the Tiger, much to the distress of the sensual young woman who is the Snake. ⠀ ⠀ ————————————————⠀ #ninegates#janelindskold#booksforbuilding#readingisfundamental#bookstagram#knowledgeofself#readersofig#bookoftheday#readwriteunite#bookshop#readabook#booknerd#bookcommunity#diversereads#bibliotherapy#bookphotography#creativewriting#ilovebooks#igreads#readinglist#bookpic#booktography#readersareleaders#bibliophile#igbooks#thegoodquote ⠀ ⠀ https://buff.ly/2RyJHJZ
It’s that time of the year when everyone posts about change and leaving behind the old, embracing something better, living better.. some seem crap and some make sense. And to add to that list is something from me too. To crap it or to save it.. is your CHOICE. . -Choice- Very recently, a dear friend of mine reminded me what I had told her about a year ago.. Why do we always choose pain over happiness? A wake up call, that I needed the most. . Lately I’m very cautious about who has access to me and its not out of arrogance, it's out of the need to continue to protect my space and energy as I continue to do the work to elevate myself. This chapter of my life requires me to be a little less Accessible and that's my choice! . At the end of the day, Whatever the setback, fear or flaws that are holding us back, we got to survive. So, you chose the wrong major and had to start over again, you cherished a friend who back stabbed you, you dated a wrong person and learnt a hard lesson. It sucks! It definitely does.. But it's also going to work out. That's life.. You learn, hurt, love, cry, laugh and keep going. You have so much to look forward to. So don't go back to the same people who don't appreciate you. It's almost like you don't care about yourself enough to move on! You think sticking to non sense is love. Real relationships don't work that way. It's always a two way bridge.. Don't let them trample you. It takes years to learn the difference between who to let go and who to be patient with. The same way it is equally hard to know what you deserve and what you don't. Hang in there, whether you are 17 or 37, nobody is worth stressing over, move on. Go find yourself. The world is yours and this Life goes on! #reveriequotes . . #quotes#quotestoliveby#poetry#poetsofinstagram#poetsofig#motivation#love#strength#soulful#writersofinstagram#dailymotivation#trust#positivethinking#writing#travelphotography#strongwomen#boldandbeautiful#midnightmusings
