The difference between quad and glute dominant leg press 👇🏽 - The first video is a variation of leg press that primarily targets your quads (The majority of the front part of your thigh) You want to keep your feet close together, but when you go down you DO NOT want your knees going over your toes. This is bad on the joints and if you want to be able to walk when you are older you should be keeping your form in check. Keep the reps slow and controlled and really feel the burn. - The second video is more of a glute (Butt area) targeting leg press. You still don’t want your knees to go in front of your toes, and your goal is to go down slowly and drive up pushing from the heels of your feet! Pay attention to feet positioning! - It’s FLEX FRIDAY ladies and gentlemen get after it today.... Even if it is leg day for you as well! 💪🏽🔥

Someone came up to me unhappy about the ground shaking from my deadlifts and rack pulls. The customer service instilled in me immediately apologized and realized I’ll need to start going to a different area so I don’t make anyone unhappy. That’s never my intention when I lift. - But the 145LB kid inside me, who started this journey 10 years ago, was grinning while thinking about the 95LB deadlift I began with, and realizing I’ve made it to 365LBs..enough weight to ‘shake the ground’ . #deadlifts#powerlifting

I did a solid leg day with my PT Shaun from @barossavalleypt on Tuesday. I don’t remember what weights on what machines (I must learn to take notice) but yeah, I’ve been sore! Quads and hammies. It was ok on Wednesday but yesterday and today I’ve been walking around like I’ve got a pole up my butt and wishing I did not have to sit down to pee! I’ve been waddling around at work too! But that’s all good, right?! I know I did some good work! Now for another session sometime soon, maybe arms? Pity I’m working every day for the next week! I’ll have to try and fit something in! More leg stretches for those hard office workers, avid runners, dedicated sporting athletes 😊💪 This passive hold will really hit your quads and as you begin to loosen up it will travel up into your hip flexors with time. ( Great stretch if you tried my kneeling quad extensions in my post yesterday 😅💪) How to do it and what muscles to be aware of: Place a cushion right up against a wall if you have tendor knees. Both hands on floor about two foot from the cushion facing away from the wall, now place one knee on the cushion and rest the flat top of your foot against the wall in a plantar flex position i.e Pointy toes. See pic. Now bring your opposite foot up into standing like you would if you were at the bottom of a lunge(knee directly over ankle). See pic. Note: You can use one hand to help get your foot up to standing if your super tight while the other hand rests on the floor while trying to do this. Now that your feet are in the right place slowly try and bring your upper body into an upright position ( have a gawk at the pic again there won't ya 😂) Don't panic if your too tight to move your upper body into an upright position.. that's common especially when attempting this for the first time 😉👌👌 Try relax the body as best you can in this position, commonly we tense up when under pressure so acknowledge the tension you may be subconsciously telling your muscles to have and try release it by relaxing the muscles, not just in your legs but also shoulders as that's where alot of us tense in any stressful situation (that tight neck heavy shoulders feeling) If you find this stretch ok and are fairly upright in your upper body (careful not to curve your spine it should be in a straight line (ribcage not flaring)) then focus on squeezing the bum cheek next to the foot at the wall which will by default make you push through your hip flexor more 👍👍.
