My pop up training has begun! I have to recert for my level 2 MovNat at the end of May and I am a tad bit ashamed to admit that I've let my pop ups slide.😞 . I know I'll get them back. I'm plenty strong enough, just haven't been working the technique. And I've been dealing with a left shoulder issue and an insanely tight neck due to all the kettlebell work I've been doing....hence all the neck shaking in the video....having to forearm hang juts rips all.up the side of my right back into brain.. feel a so good....fuck!!! Really looking forward to physio tomorrow... . When I was first training my pop up years ago I went to fast into my training and buggered my shoulder. So I've learned to take it easy, go slow and solidify my movement and strength before progressing. . I'm using the 4 week to pop up program from MovNat....of course...lol...and not doing it everyday. I've got time and taking it slow....there's lots of ways to pull.... . So perhaps not in order, the videos show me doing: - dead hang/ active passives - low forearm hang - medium forearm hang - low- medium forearm pull up - medium hang-eccentric lower - jumping pop up - halos.....to build shoulder strength and stability . Bad night + bad morning called for a heavy lifting session tonight. Warmed up by working on pull-ups and handstands, then did back squats and cleans. I couldn’t find the 2.5 plates to get to my max of 200 so I just threw on 5s and it went smooth... got up to 215lb and @amyjotho was quick and caught this video of it! A very productive start to the week...... 7.15 am I had a player in that wants to do some extra work. After that I chatted with the physio and most of the staff around the stadium mostly about the eventful road trip. I then went back to bed for a few hours as I was naturally pretty exhausted after that trip, then went to see Linsey after school and enjoyed a nice dinner and sat by the pool with her and Bailey, my new wee mate. Back to the stadium for my own workout and I’m definitely starting to feel more like myself again and enjoying the training. It’s been a bit disrupted lately which has annoyed me but I’m still getting a minimum of 3 sessions a week. I can’t be to down on myself. Recently a couple of things, small really in perspective, were niggling at me. Ironic that I came across that saying from Bruce Lee today. So applicable in everyday life. I spent far to long worrying and caring what people thought of me. Really, it’s none of my business. Tomorrow, like the pide piper I’m gathering up a few more players that want some extra work, and then I really need to finish off my assignment. I’m nearly there and might be on the naughty step. With the right programming put in place this is an amazing tool towards attaining your first chin up. . .. I went to the mecca today aka @goldsgym In Venice beach. It cost me $40 as they wouldn't accept my 3 day pass since I'm not a local. . . Totally worth every $ such an amazing gym surrounded by people who love their training. And @schwarzenegger was there today who is one of the people who inspired me to get into fitness. . . I didn't take as many photos and videos as I'd like because I wanted to enjoy the moment.
