What a great birthday! Despite the balloon shop apparently running out of 4's so I have to pretend to be 41, all the wishes, gifts and getting spoilt rotten by my friends, colleagues and @laughbaketravel made it okay to be getting old 😁 The icing on the (birthday) cake, however, was being able to see Logan @logster_pe win 1st Prize in the Math / IT section of the regional heats of Jugend Forscht Today! After, as a 10 year old, coming 2nd in the under 15 version, his team won the open age (up to 21 or first year of bachelor's studies) group at only 12! Now he goes on to the state finals next month! I could happily have a birthday every month if there as good as this, thank you! 😁 #41#birthday#jugendforscht#prouddad#childgenius

A Chance to Succeed. ⠀ ⠀ I am a proud daddy! I watched my three sons work together (with a little help from me) put together a puzzle. They was no yelling, frustration, or arguing. ⠀ ⠀ They worked together and encouraged each other to keep working until the right pieces were found. I was blown away at their ability to put the puzzle together, and their empathy and words of support toward one another. ⠀ ⠀ These young men are learning and growing so much, so fast. ⠀ ⠀ One think their dad learned was don’t underestimate them. When they first asked to do the puzzle I thought, “No! That will be a waste of time. They won’t be able to do it.”⠀ ⠀ I am glad I did not let this negative and false assumption stand in the way of giving my boys a chance to succeed. ⠀ ⠀ And succeed they did! Not only at the puzzle, but they succeeded in challenging themselves and motivating each other to win. ⠀ ⠀ May this be a reminder to let kids take a chance to succeed, and for parents not to allow negative and false assumptions stand in the way of their children’s growth and development.
