Author of “Love your life not theirs” (one of the books on my to read list) and @ramsey.solutions personality @rachelcruze succinctly says that “content people win”. Now this winning isn’t about being in competition with anyone else (that would kind of counteract the idea of the notion that it’s best not to compare and compete, but do you) - but it is about finding satisfaction in what you have going on. That can be a decision to eat out less so you can save money (and pay off debt etc) or even in this moment for me - sitting down and focusing on my assignments while R & N watch Moana 👀. Yes there may be other things you’d rather do but when you are on a mission to win (again - not competing with others) in your life... contentment is a huge part of that. (And gratitude is helpful here) . . To contentment! *Cheers* 🥂 . . #contentment#gratitude#achievemoretogether#progressnotperfection#debtfreejourney#marriage#family#studying
Sometimes all you want is buttery toast. . I’m very much a fan of getting in a nutrient dense meal as your first meal of the day; some protein and good quality fats as it helps with satiety, and having that alongside some carbs if you do so wish - dependent on goals and personal preference. . However, I also think that occasionally if all you want is a slice of buttered toast then GO FOR IT. . Just be aware that you’re more likely to get hungry again much sooner. It’s also probably not the most optimal if you’re planning on training straight after, or need to be mentally alert! . Don’t over complicate your nutrition. Focus on the good quality, nutrient dense foods for the majority of the time, and throw in a few things you fancy along the way! . . .
❤️ “I’m fitter than I ever have been in the past 10-15 years.” ❤️ ⠀ Have you been trying to improve your diet, fitness and lifestyle but it always feels like something gets in the way? ⠀ So did Simone…After reaching her 50th, she was starting to realise that there were certain things that her body wouldn’t let her do anymore and was experiencing increasing levels of aches and pains. ⠀ She was ready for all of that to change. ⠀ Before coming to The DVCC, Simone could not do a sit-up, she thought it was impossible…Just 3 months on though, the impossible happened! ⠀ Simone is continuing the surprise herself every week, with new barriers constantly being broken down and having the support of a community who try care about her. 😁❤️
Progress is sometimes not visible, unlike what some expect. And to the person progressing, it often won't feel like one. I came to this realization. Just.This.Morning while having my mug of freshly stirred 3-in-1 coffee. 😂 The two drawings are both unfinished (because I have a not-so-good habit of starting something and not finishing it) and both are, obviously, the face of C.S. Lewis. The one's drawn last year (right), the other, just last night. Haha. But what I did learn is that, although at times we might feel like we aren't progressing, the truth is: we actually are. We might not see it, or oftentimes not feel it, but we are. Yes, we get frustrated. Because when it's just us and what we do, not just in drawing but whatever that is in life, we tend to not notice our progress. What is progress? Is it when you couldn't draw yesterday yet today you're a well-known artist? I don't think so. I don't think it happens overnight. What I do think is, it's something that happens to us little by little, step by step, day by day.Progress takes time, and patience. 😄 I wonder what drinking a mug of freshly brewed coffee could do? 🤔
Bottoms Up P1, wk1, d2. - 🐘 What I enjoy about this video is it shows the internal and external self-adjustment process that occurs innately through simple awareness. I understand that I need to keep on my center but to get that happening I am gently encouraging my ankles & knees to take my weight and whispering lovingly to my legs & core that they are stronger than they believe. It may burn but its so rewarding. With birds in nature. Easter Bliss. #bottomsup#sassysquatches#legwork @yuenjon #progressnotperfection
I am a lover of all movements, and while I love to find my own inner expression in my regular yoga practice, I am just as fond of being challenged out of my comfort zones and connecting through movement with other Yogis 🤸🏽♀️🧘♂️ . Thanks to everyone at @dreamsea_canggu for holding this fun space for us, a big thank you to @sallyrached for the amazing pics and videos as always, and lovely to meet you and thanks for allowing this perpetual lady base to have her chance at flying @drsaschawin We had such a blast 🙏🏾❣️
