SKI TRIP COMING? . Here’s some options for tapering your training on the week before your ski-trip 🎿🎿 assuming that you built your strength levels in the previous 4-8 wks . Bear in mind that what (us) average tourists do on the slopes ⛷⛷ is going for little runs lasting about 30-60sec, for then resting a bit waiting for the rest of the crew. Other than having a good core foundation, build most of your training on short intervals of lower body movements, aiming at reaching the limit where your body starts producing lactic-acid. Having a good cardio endurance over 20-30 mins (being running or cycling) wouldn’t be relevant at all on such scenario . Save it for yourself or tag a friend, if you’re planning on hitting the Alps this season . Nell’ apprendimento di questo esercizio è obbligatorio spendere del tempo per un buon lavoro tecnico ma tra i vostri obiettivi non dovete mai perdere di vista gli esercizi più classici per costruire spalle forti . ✅Il Push Press permette di sviluppare un tronco robusto e stabile, evidenziando la carenza di mobilità delle spalle. ✅È un ottimo modo per allenare carichi pesanti ad elevate ripetizioni o comunque per lavori di resistenza. ✅A differenza del Military Press richiede che le braccia siano parallele al pavimento, in modo simile  alla posizione utilizzata in un Front Squat. ✅Mentre si carica il movimento mantenere  una postura eretta  e spingere le ginocchia verso fuori per un corretto posizionamento del bacino. ✅Il caricamento va eseguito ad un quarto di squat, per poi restituire con un violento movimento in estensione per trasferire forza al bilanciere. First time to do clean and jerks in quite a while. Took nearly a one year hiatus from the Olympic lifts after having done them nearly continuously for 10+ years.  Needless to say, they felt pretty weak and rusty. They’ll come back quick though. Nothing better than these lifts for converting pure basic strength into real life functional power.  They’re also a great barometer for whether you’re tight or weak or imbalanced anywhere. If you are, you’ll know immediately when you try a snatch or a clean and jerk. Keeps you honest, that’s for sure. POWER SNATCH - “Arranque de potencia” ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• El arranque de potencia es un arranque donde el atleta recibe la barra en una posición mas alta. Generalmente, por definición, se requiere que el levantador reciba con la linea de la cadera por arriba de la linea de las rodillas. Este movimiento se utiliza como una vía para la mejora del arranque, buscando una mayor velocidad de extensión, agresividad y velocidad de metida bajo la barra. A su vez, es beneficioso para la absorción de fuerza y el desplazamiento veloz de la posición de tirón a recepción de los pies. Genera la necesidad de una mayor producción de fuerza en el segundo y tercer tirón, limitando el tiempo y distancia que se tiene para meterse bajo la barra. Muchas veces se ve que se utiliza una apertura de pies exagerada en el recibimiento del arranque de potencia. Esta posición amplia, permite una mas sencilla recepción de barra dado que existe menos flexión de rodilla. Sin embargo existen dos problemas principales con esta practica: En primer lugar, el gesto motor. El recibir la barra con una posición exagerada de amplitud de pies en las personas principiantes crea un patrón motor indebido, disminuyendo el volumen de practica de la técnica debida. En segundo lugar, al recibir la barra en una posición tan abierta, complica la posibilidad de descenso en caso de que la recepción haya sido a una inadecuada altura. ⚡️POWER TRAINING⚡️ ➖ 💥Here’s a quick example of how I’ve been utilizing contrast training with my man @joezanghi_. As you probably know by now, I think contrast training is a very effective way to develop power for athletes. ➖ ⚾️Once again, contrast training ‘excites’ the nervous system with a heavier potentiating exercise before moving to a lighter explosive exercise. You’re essentially trying to trick your body into producing more power than it normally would. ➖ 🧠This is an example from a recent upper body focused day. The contrast set went as follows: - 1️⃣Single Arm DB Bench Press x3/side 👉This is our heavier ‘potentiation’ exercise. Rest for ~20-30 seconds before moving on. - 2️⃣Drop into Med Ball Shotput Throw (8-10 lbs) x2/side 👉This is our lighter explosive exercise. I like this for Joe because as a pitchers, I feel it has a good amount of carryover. - 3️⃣Drop into Med Ball Shotput Throw (4-6 lbs) x2/side 👉We even did a second drop to really push for some serious speed 😈. ➖ 💊Although the second movement is truly a total body exercise, we still get some carryover from the final push of the med ball.
