a very special place ✨ someone recently tipped me off to this small, old school greenhouse in a neighboring county and i finally had a chance to visit this morning. these are my places. so many greenhouses have become overly commercialized, over priced, and have a sterility to them that just doesn’t feel right. i don’t want rows of perfectly curated trendy house plants that have been grown to look a particular way ... i love the plants that have been allowed to grow as they wish, often curling and twisting in weird directions; you can feel the years of life in their stems, sense the vibrancy in their leaves. they contain magic, that’s all there is to it. i’ve been so picky with the plants we will carry for @palmandpineavl ... i want them to be thoughtful and special. i want them to transfer their magic to you. so i’ll keep driving outside of town, hunting down the gritty little spots, crawling on the floor through years of rooted clippings to find the extra special and the extra vibrant. our first pop up is next saturday - i hope to see you there 🧡 @palmandpineavl
Loving this post from @thedailyessentialco all about anxiety. The struggle is real but this blend is 👌👌👌👌👌 ・・・ Did you know anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S. and affect 40 million adults each year? Did you also know that aromatherapy and essential oils are powerful tools for calming emotions and providing relief to those who suffer from anxiety?⠀ ⠀ When we breathe in a scent it passes through our olfactory + limbic systems, triggering memories and eliciting an emotional response. That's why essential oils are a natural, safe, and effective tool for supporting our emotions and helping ease anxiety. So the next time feelings of anxiety arise, try using this favorite Liquid Calm blend, either as a rollerball or in a diffuser. #thedailyessentialco ⠀ ⠀ Liquid Calm Recipe:⠀ 4 Drops Serenity ⠀ 4 Drops Balance ⠀ 2 Drops Vetiver ⠀ Add oil to a 10 ml rollerball + fill halfway with fractionated coconut oil before assembling the final product.
🇱🇷 I love Spring so much, there are so many new growth on almost each one of my plants 🌿 (well yeah, almost, some are a bit struggling... 😅) Am I the only one with struggling plants ? 🙄 . .🌵. . 🙄 . . . #calathea#calatheaflamestar#marantaceae
Today’s Tea is simple— juicy fresh lemon balm leaves with garden grown, recently dried roses. My lemon balm plant is really taking care of me this season. Anyone else getting big ol honkin’ leaves from their lemon balm?
I finally got my first essential oil from Plant Therapy. I am so excited. Since I am new to this, I start with the Frankincense Serrata to help with my anxiety. I can't wait to try it today once I get my diffuser. It is said that Frankincense is great for treating depression and anxiety because it provides a calming and tranquil energy as well as spiritual grounding. In #aromatherapy, it helps deepen #meditation and quiet the mind. Mixed with bergamot and lavender oils in a 1:1 ratio in an aroma hand massage, frankincense was found to have a positive effect on pain and depression in hospice patients with terminal cancer in a Keimyung University study in Korea. #essentialoils#planttherapy#anxiety#depressiontips#depression#frankincense#calm#hopeforsheeda
Whipped up a lil focus roller to help me stay motivated and focused on getting my shizzz done. I have to take 4 hour clinical exam before August 15 in order to become a licensed social worker. So it’s time to actually start studying. I spent a crapload of money (like $500 worth 😭😩) 2 days ago on the test registration fees and on study material. Soo I definitely need to put my mind to it and start studying so I can pass 💪🏼
Haemanthus Coccineus, April Fool, March Lily or Blood Flower: A late summer surprise, this was likely the first flower ever collected from Table Mountain, and illustrated by Flemish botanist de L’Obel in 1605. Fresh leaves were traditionally applied as a dressing to septic ulcers & sores. A diuretic can be made from sliced bulb boiled in vinegar with honey which also aids asthma. The bulb contains coccinine which is an alkaloid with a known convulsive action. #aprilfool#marchlily#fynbos#medicinalplants#planttherapy#naturalmedicine#fynbosbiome#plantremedies

The plant is called four-o’clock because of its flowers, from yellow and white to shades of red and pink, sometimes streaked and mottled. Flowers open in late afternoon and close by morning. .. . #flowers#plants#plantsmakepeoplehappy#outdoorplants#houseplantclub#houseplantcommunity#livingwithplants#medicnalplants#healingplants#plantobsession#plantmom#gardener#gardeningisfun#planttherapy#yellowflowers#outdoorplants#plantgang#gardenactivist#plantaddict#botanical#urbanjungle#hoticulture#plantporn#plantsarefriends#plantsofinstagram#plantparenthood#plantlady#crazyplantlady#gardening#houseplants#fouroclocks
