Plank | Anatomical Analysis  This great exercise intended to strengthen our core muscles. We must maintain a straight back (neutral spine) throughout the entire range of motion.  The abdominal muscles stabilize the chest from the top and the pelvis from the bottom.  Contraction of the abdominal muscles (and especially the transversus abdominis) increases Intra-Abdominal Pressure (IAP), thus preventing pressure on the lower vertebrae.  The scapulae are stabilized by the serratus anterior muscle.  When activating the abdominal muscles in the stabilizing aspect, using a rod helps the trainee to feel his body and achieve proper posture. ⛔Come in qualsiasi altra attività fisica gli esercizi con sovraccarico necessitano uno specifico ritmo respiratorio ben coordinato col movimento stesso.  Nell’allenamento con i pesi sapere coordinare bene la respirazione favorisce l’esecuzione tecnica dell’esercizio stesso e permette ai muscoli di recuperare meglio dallo sforzo. [Qualche consiglio da tenere a mente]  Normalmente un esercizio con sovraccarico prevede una fase di maggiore sforzo, fase di carico, e una di recupero, fase di scarico.  Nella fase di carico è fondamentale espirare, mentre in quella di scarico inspirare. Building a strong core doesn't require crunches.  Big movements that require you to stabilize your whole body are also great ways to get amazing and lean abs. Think full push ups, weighted squats, lunges, single-arm shoulder or chest press (love these last ones). Two gentle reminders: 1) If you're carrying fat on your abs it's going to be difficult to see them, period 2) Doing endless crunches to give yourself a six-pack will at best leave you with a sore neck, at worst leave you with imbalanced muscles or an injury. Not to mention it's a waste of time. *confession* I do love a good plank, though! Why? Your whole body has to work together to hold you up in a straight line. I have scoliosis and it sometimes aggravates my shoulders but overall gives me a killer overall workout.  Trade in those ab sets at the end of your session for an extra set of squats or some intervals, and see how you fare after 4 weeks.  #getskinnystopdieting #plank #sixpack #absworkout #workoutroutine

If I do one side, I will always do the other too. I usually favour one side to the other so I like to try and hold the side I don’t like as much for longer to build strength and find comfort in my discomforts. I like to actively try new things and push myself out of my comfort zone whenever possible. If you don’t already do this, maybe try it and see how empowering it can feel? 💪🏼
Don’t fall, don’t fall, don’t fall... that often goes through my mind and usually THATS when I fall. I lose myself in my thoughts and obsess over a tiny thing and stop being in the moment. Often it’s harmless falling, and usually mildly comical (I make myself laugh really easily) BUT sometimes, not being fully present and in the moment leads to injuries. I may have fallen over and bruised my knee whilst doing a handstand recently, on a day where I wasn’t feeling very balanced or stable. I didn’t listen to my body, I forced it to get into a pose and as a result, I have a bruised knee 🤓 LISTEN to your body, BE in the moment but let whatever happens, happen. Stay light, positive and mindful. Don’t take it ‘too’ seriously. Remember yoga can be fun too 😜🙏🏼
