Some things I dreamt of when I was a little girl: •being brave enough to travel & see the world •being brave enough to chop my hair off •be an artist •seeing the greats that inspire me in person •make it to Paris •be brave enough to be with the person of my dreams The last is the thing I am most proud of✨ I still have many things to do outside these, but I know I am making that little girl proud ✨ #paris#picasso#travel#thankful
I don’t know why I’ve been so MIA on Instagram. Maybe it was because I didn’t wanna have these expectations for myself or others to expect something out of me. Maybe it was because all I wanted to do these past months was practice and be the best I can be at jazz. Whatever it was I’m glad to say that school is ending, i’ll be on here more and I’m working on a new project I’m really excited about. Shoutsout to the ones who have supported my music this far 🌘
In 1953 the 72 year old Picasso met the 26 year old Jacqueline Roque. Together they moved into Villa La Californie near Cannes in the South of France in 1955. The villa had a seaview that attracted Picasso. It was here that he painted #femmenuedevantlejardin in 1958. The painting shows his sunbathing lover, with in the background the palmtrees of the villa's garden. It was purchased with the financial support of the @vereniging_rembrandt. In 1999 it was vandalized by the same man that had sprayed acid on Rembrandts iconic #nachtwacht nine years earlier!! Picasso finally moved out of Villa la Californie in 1961 after the view of the sea was obscured by a new building.
