Mindful eating means putting your full attention on the experience of eating or drinking. This weekend, when you sit down to eat or have a snack, try noticing the smells, colors, textures, and of course the flavors of the food. Pay attention to how your body feels as you get full.

I’ve been to her workplace 3 times now since December 1, 2017. I needed to interchange my eyeglasses since I’ve had them 2 half of years and my prescription has modified. She talked about that my imaginative and prescient has truly improved considerably from my prior prescription and stated that by no means occurs. Nicely my new glasses arrived a couple of month after my first appointment. And so they didn’t work for me so that they made new lenses. The second lenses didn't work for me both. I went again in at present for one more full examination. My physician was shocked on the dramatic enchancment in my imaginative and prescient since December 1, 2017. At first, she was speechless. Once more she stated this by no means occurs!!! However apparently it does. Then, relating to the prescription, she stated it’s onerous to hit a shifting goal! I could also be altering my new lenses once more within the very close to future as my eyes proceed to alter. I requested for a printout of my outcomes. I don’t know what the numbers imply, however I see them decreasing and I’d like to trace them as I'm going ahead. How fascinating! I’m pondering after I go to my subsequent appointment, she can be able to “hear” what I’m doing to heal. PS I’ve been on MM protocol four.5 years. It’s so nice that I'm STILL therapeutic. Thanks @MedicalMedium!
• @mursestudychecklist Had to take this gem from @theedtraumacist ・・・ ☠️Welcome back to Tox Thursdays☠️ 💉 Octreotide (an analog of somatostatin) is the antidote for sulfonylurea toxicity. Sulfonylurea toxicity presents as recurrent hypoglycemia and may be due to overdose, drug interactions, decreased drug metabolism or decreased drug excretion. Octreotide is used as an adjunct to dextrose in the management of sulfonylurea induced hypoglycemia. Octreotide ➕ dextrose versus dextrose only management show that octreotide reduces the number of hypoglycemic events and glucose requirements when compared to IV dextrose alone. 💉 Sulfonylureas (ex. chlorpropamide, glyburide, glipizide, glimepiride) are medications used in the treatment of type II diabetes. They work by stimulating the release of insulin from pancreatic islet beta cells. This is accomplished upon binding of the sulfonylurea to ATP sensitive K+ channels in the pancreatic beta cell, leading to a rise in intracellular K+ (depolarizing the cell), causing Ca2+ influx through voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels, leading to a rise in intracellular Ca2+, triggering insulin secretion via exocytosis into the extracellular fluid and systemic circulation. 💉 Octreotide works by inhibiting pancreatic beta cell insulin release by binding to G protein-coupled somatostatin receptors that are associated with voltage-gated Ca2+ channels, leading to a decreased influx of Ca2+, subsequently decreasing insulin release. 💉 Octreotide may be administered SubQ or IV at a dose of 50 - 100 mcg every 6 hours and is given in conjunction with IV dextrose when managing sulfonylurea toxicity. Tag anyone you think should know about octreotide and sulfonylurea overdose. #theedtraumacist#toxicology#tox#emergencymedicine#emergencydepartment#miamiem#pharmacist#pharmacy#nurse#registerednurse#nurselife#studentnurse
