Sintra - Portugal A little bit hidden (I got lost a lot until I finally got there!) in Sintra you’ll find the Monserrate Palace. And I think for this exact reason, it’s so overlooked. But believe me, this is a place worth visiting. It was renovated and it doesn’t have a lot of old furniture, so it’s not museum-like, but the building and the garden are both stunning. Absolutely extraordinary. I was walking around the palace and this view just made me instantly stop. So much beauty.
The problem with going away in winter somewhere even remotely warm is that I start to crave and pine for the longer days and rays of sun. ☀️ Marrakech was just the right amount of daytime sunshine to enjoy your skin heating up, and the generally modest clothing choices meant I wasn’t whacking out my pale pins just yet. 👖 Today felt like the first post-work walk home where it was still actually light. Like proper cotton wool clouds and blue skies light (albeit a lovely sunset in the making). I can feel the longer days slowly creeping up and can’t wait. 🌥 Could I be any more British talking about the weather?! 🧐
