MOBILITY AID . Crutch or crutches. . You may think why is this girl using one? Nothing wrong with her legs?! Well since surgery and was same in 2017 I’ve struggled long distance walking as I’ve found out the past few days. Where my stoma my abdomen and my back kills and I need something to steady me and hold me up straight. It’s been a while since I used one and I didn’t really wanna use it. But as I’m seeing @smidgetmidget92 in London today in hospital that’s an 1hr and a half journey unless I’m lucky. Considering I’m not two weeks post op yet and I’ve had three open surgeries in 1 a year and a half means I have no core or back strength. Also my right hip is struggling since my fall. So I might look young. I might look fine but you just don’t know what’s underneath the clothing and underneath my skin. I am a very independent person and to rely on a crutch does bother me not going to lie to you. But I’ve dropped a stone and a half maybe more in six months. Most of it muscle mass so doesn’t help me in the slightest either. (Also my boobs shrunk not that I thought they could shrink any further if I’m honest!!) There is nothing wrong with using a mobility aid. It’s just my mind telling me there is. #spoonie#chronicpain#chronicillness#postop#ostomy#ostomate#ileostomy#opensurgery#pain#weakness#weightloss#crutch#mobilityaid#mentalhealth#eupd#depression#anxiety#paranoia#struggling#hospital#dysmotility#bowelremoval#nocolonstillrollin
Looking back at pictures from when I was out in the world...this was post a hair trial for my best friends wedding last year....the confidence and strength and happiness that i felt 6months ago feel as though it was a distant dream. Looking at this is as though it is a different person...But I know it isn't. This period now is just another side of the person in this photo. Nothing to fight with and nothing to try to rid myself of (tho lessening the pain would be nice). I trust there is a lesson in every experience and what this will bring me is strength in the future to brave the rough waters that life, will undoubtedly, cast me. Even in my darkest of days dealing with this pain I know that there are people willing this smile and twinkle back into my eye and will be there to support me. Chronic pain is a dark curse that no one sees or can fathom at times. Even the person cursed with it. Their emotions jump all over the place because they do not know how they will feel from one minute to the next...so how can they guide those nearest to them in how to act. People suffering need to continue to talk about their day...feelings and experiences and those around need to keep encouraging sufferers to talk and not take quietness/absence/snide comments or outbursts personally. They are constantly balancing their energy levels with handling their condition and being a partner, a friend, an employee, a parent...whatever it is. Every moment they are feeling it....it is never gone...it is just at a manageable level or not that day and when it is not and you see tears that is when the pain is at a level that you cannot begin to imagine.... But they are are still there, still getting up, still trying, still stumbling through....praise them for it and hold them tight. #mood#meditation#mindfulness#reflecting#reflection#thinking#chronicpain#backpain#armpain#migraine#poorly#offwork#dailystruggle#back#support#family#friends#strength#courage#longgame#7years
Great post from @livesmartchiropractic using @RepostRegramApp - 💥 Rotator Cuff Tear 💥 Your arm is kept in your shoulder socket by your rotator cuff. The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles that come together as tendons to form a covering around the head of the humerus. They attach from the humerus to the shoulder blade and help lift, rotate, and move your arm. • 🦴 In most rotator cuff tears, the tendon is torn away from the bone. Most tears occur in the supraspinatus tendon, but other parts of the rotator cuff may also be involved. In many cases, torn tendons begin by fraying. As the damage progresses, the tendon can completely tear. • There are different types of tears: ☝️Partial tear. This type of tear is also called an incomplete tear. It damages the tendon, but does not completely sever it. ✌️ Full-thickness tear. This type of tear is also called a complete tear. It separates the tendon from the bone. • 👨⚕️👩⚕️Whether you injured your shoulder working out, lifting heavy objects, repetitive motions, a fall, or other activity, it’s always important to have it evaluated. • 📝 Common symptoms (but not all) to watch for are: ✔️Pain at rest and at night, particularly if lying on the affected shoulder ✔️Pain when lifting and lowering your arm or with specific movements ✔️Weakness when lifting or rotating your arm ✔️Crepitus or crackling sensation when moving your shoulder in certain positions • #chiropractic#rotatorcufftear#injuries#pain#massage#muscletherapy
Smartest moves after cast removal. When you remove a cast, it is normal to have pain, swelling and stiffness of the joint for a few days or weeks depending on how long it was in a cast for. The longer your muscles are in a cast , the weaker ( atrophy ) your muscles become. You need to do exercises with the advice of a physician or physical therapist. Acupuncture is a strong component to quick rehabilitation. Acupuncture promotes blood circulation. It strengthens the muscles and tendons. Within 1 treatment, half the pain , swelling and stiffness is possible. Make sure to protect and strengthen the area as soon as you remove cast.
Self love Saturday 💙 • Hope everyone has a great weekend, we made it through another week. What are you doing today to show some self love? • I’m planning on a bubble bath after a day of shopping and good food. A big bubble bath with my CBD bath crumble! A read of my kindle as well I think. Debating whether to put my rose gold hair dye on tomorrow as well... my roots are about 9 feet long 😂 • Hips making some funny clicking and clanking noises over the past few days. I’m enjoying being able to drive again, can’t wait to get back to work though! Pain killers are slowly reducing but I’m sure they’ll go back up as soon as I’m back to work.
DREAM saturday: Today I highlight my wife, Sha-Kim. She is strong. She is thoughtful. She has grace. She has grit. She is resilant beyond belief. She walks in faith through God. To those that know her will tell you she is a genuine person. I write all of these things not to be boastful but because she is deserving of such praise. My wife deals with endometriosis and fibroids which causes her great pain. Inspite of this and through her worst days she pushes forward. Her spirit and faith are never failing. She is literally the embodiment of what DREAM is! So to my wife I love you. #queen#wife#strongwomen#blackwoman#blacklove#pain#relationshipgoals#relationship#highlights#faith#grit#grace#god#married#marriage#lady#woman
PAIN💥 We ALL experience acute pain- burning ourselves, stubbing our toe😖 But what about CHRONIC PAIN? It all starts with an original threat- a virus, sports injury, emotional trauma, infection. This causes that normal acute pain that we instantly feel. But when the pain outlasts the problem, and becomes chronic? Those neural pathways are still active⚠️What’s crazy about chronic pain - it feels like pain is coming from the original injury but it’s actually more to do with our neurology and processing systems of our brain. It’s true, THE PAIN IS NOT IN YOUR HEAD, but over time it can BECOME neurological💥
