I really like the idea of thinking about success in terms of self-worth, confidence and being comfortable with who you are and how you choose to live your life. But for me this state is still often a distant aspiration rather than a lived experience. What do you do to feel more at peace with yourself, and do you think this contributes to your feeling of success? . You can listen to Nadia Khan talk about her take on this question in #meaningfulpodcast latest on your fave podcast app or via link in bio ☝️
How do you deliver a meaningful message about a sensitive topic like mental health, identity or masculinity and make sure it reaches all parts of your community? Not just your allies, not just those who agree with you and believe in your cause, but also those who may be sceptical of your work, your ability, even your age? Nadia Khan and her team at The Delicate Mind @thedelicatemind_nz are faced with this question in their day to day work as mental health activists working with South-Asian communities across the UK. #meaningfulpodcast is back after a break for Season 2 and on this week's episode I speak with Nadia about the issues that her social enterprise seeks to tackle, the ups and downs of running a not-for-profit organisation, community activism, interfaith organising and the idea of success as inner peace. This week I've launched into season 2 of #meaningfulpodcast with a great episode featuring one of the co-founders of @thedelicatemind_nz, Nadia Khan. Nadia is wonderfully passionate and thoughtful, and together with her team works tirelessly to bring more nuanced, science-based discussions around mental health, identity and masculinity to faith-based communities across the UK. Thanks to all our lovely customers cleaning us out in the run up to Christmas, we did a big restock on all our Arc Earrings yesterday (Arc, Mini Arc, Gold Arc) These are the gold pictured. They are gold vermeil which is sterling silver gold plated. Stock is all topped up and ready for you...
So the new earrings were shot yesterday ready for the shop. They launch Monday. Don't the look great on our model!? These are called Ceto and come in two colourways. There is another style too called Gaia. I'll let you know over here as soon as they go in the shop on Monday. The others are 👌👌👌 They are lightweight acetate and sterling silver.
I'm 27 today so I drew myself a birthday cake in the form of a mountain side - flower meadows, dark woods, snowy peaks and all. Can you spot the Half Dome? I won't see the mountains until next month though, so for now all I can do is dream.
Would you look at this magical little animation made by Folksy seller Yas Bowley from IndaBayi about Folksy?! Our hearts actually burst when we saw it 🎈 💓 It perfectly captures what happens when you buy handmade from one of our amazing artists, designers or makers, working at kitchen tables and in studios across the British Isles, and all the love and skill they send out across the world. You can watch it on our homepage too. Thank you, thank you Yas 💖
These Wise words from @taraleaver remind me the importance of my art. Time to consider what I will offer this year. " The 'secret' behind everything I offer is that it's never just about the art. As I see it, art is a way to remember and return to our innate wholeness. When we respond to and give space to what calls to us, we offer ourselves a kindness that in turn softens us and makes us kinder. It enables us to be brighter lights in what can feel like a very broken world, whether that's in a public way or simply as we go about our private lives. It all counts." . I forget myself. Do you? . #mywisdomlessons#taleswithfriends#arthealsthesoul#createeveryday#creativemamas#ourcreativeselves#bw
Yep, I’m talking rituals again!! Feel free to keep scrolling as I know I yabber about this a lot! It’s just something that I find SO beneficial but also so interesting when hearing what other people scribe into their daily lives to keep them focused, clear minded and healthy both mentally and physically! And it so often boils down to rituals, little acts taking the lead for that skip in your step and sense of grounding and peace. For my little rituals it’s my face that gets the love, because I always look and feel exhausted I’ve recently found that taking care of my skin even just for a few seconds of my day really boosts me! I feel like I’ve given myself the time, my body some love and I also know that what I use is totally natural thanks to @yellow.gorse I totally love their products and their range of facial dreams and scrubs are the perfect treat! (Plus the facial mist is a must!!) And it doesn’t break the bank...because that would just leave me feeling incredibly panicked and do alll that 30seconds of self love!!! What are your daily rituals and if theirs an indie product you use to help create some you time I’d love to hear what they are!! Pop I store today and tomorrow for 10% off all our products and some cheeky sale pieces!
