Oslo Yogafestival 2019 🎉 I år er temaet ytre estetikk kontra indre sansning. Aldri har yoga hatt flere ytterpunkter, aldri har det vært viktigere å diskutere og utforske hva YOGA er. Den kjente yogalæreren Rod Stryker har sagt "we need more yoga in the asanas" 😀 Og det oppsummerer temaet vårt ganske godt. Men ikke alltid like lett i en stressa hverdag med så altfor mange baller i lufta.😳😅 Stresset påvirker oss mentalt og fysisk og vi kan lett bli syke av stress , men noe som for meg er et tegn på at jeg er stressa er at jeg får redusert evne til å kjenne etter mine egne ønsker og behov. Jeg vet ikke hva jeg vil, hva som er riktig å gjøre og kan lett bli urolig eller engstelig. Når jeg skaper balanse i livet kjenner jeg på lyst, kreativitet, lekenhet og glede. For meg starter arbeidet med meg selv på yogamatta gjennom fysiske øvelser i tillegg til meditasjon, pust og ro. Men praksisen får ringvirkninger i livet generelt. Cosmic Yes // I taught my first yoga class today after a month + off from teaching (2 hour Sankalpa workshop for the new year) and also had two yoga appointments. I am gearing up for the new year, and couldn’t be more excited! . I look and feel healthier than I have in the past few years. I have a better outlook on my life, immigration, and running a business in a foreign country. I have a better understanding of myself — more grounded and clear. Trauma comes in all forms: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. And there is no guidebook or timeline to process trauma or grief. So when you see + feel yourself move into a new realm, it is really powerful. . This year feels exciting; like I FEEL a shift in energy. Like possibility is in the air. Like magic is real. . Rather than “hustling” for my dreams, I am calling them in. I have done the work, and I am ready. The groundwork is laid, the stage is set. Come and get me, 2019! Rituals of Intention // The last day of 2018 sets the stage for deep reflection on the year. Get still, get quiet, and pay attention. Especially if you have fun NYE plans! . So often, we buzz through the last day of the year busy with party plans. But set aside a little time for YOU and a sweet ritual. . Turn off the lights, light a candle, make a nice cup of tea, sit down, take 10 deep breaths, and with your eyes closed invite in the emotions of the past year. What are they? What do the feel like? Where do you feel them in your body. Say a prayer of thanks for the lessons these emotions have brought you — resolved or not. Allow the exercise to be about observation, not “problem solving”. Allow your observation to be rooted in kindness, compassion, and forgiveness (for you or others). . Then, stand and shake your body losely — shake off the emotions — release them. . Sit down with your eyes closed again, take 10 cleansing breaths, and now sit with the emotions that arise as you think about 2019. What do you want to call in? How do you want your year to FEEL? Say a prayer to yourself committing to traveling the path of inquiry, growth, and a strengthened relationship to Self. . Stand up and shake it off. Let your arms swing and your hips groove. Embody your intentions for the new year. Take 3 cleansing breaths. . Continue party planning 😉 . I’m at my personal best at unexpected hours.⠀ ⠀ Sometimes midday, most of the time midnight (just being honest..although midnight sessions have to stop so I can get my 7 hours!) always on Sunday night. 🤷♀️⠀ ⠀ So what is it for you?
