Slowly increasing the intensity. Today's training included snatches up to 85 kg. I was too greedy trying 90 kg but couldn't quite make it so I had to satisfy with 85 kg for 2 singles. Then did C&Js, up to 110 kg. I misjudged myself by jumping from 105 to 115 kgs and then missing 3 attempts (I was too weak for executing a decent jerk ). As a finisher I did clean pulls 3x5 with 140 kg and front squats up to 145 kg x1. Bonus clip includes snatch from Saturday. Back is slowly getting better but I'll still be doing only front squats untill it recovers completely.
(Disclaimer: No, I have no clue who these guys are taking pictures of me, but I hope they find me and send them to me 😂) This was pretty big for me. 255 clean, push press and then split jerk.. with no belt! 👀 There's not too many things more fulfilling than pushing yourself and succeeding .. besides Jesus.. IT Band syndrome Part 1 This is going to be a little series on the ITBand and the associated system and function that it is included in. This video is the basic anatomy and intro. ---------- The IT Band is a tendon more than a random 'band' in the body. It has many components to its functional side and is involved with quite a few muscles in the hip and leg. Let's talk about the landing in the Split Jerk: Learning to balance your weight distribution in the split can be a challenging task. Each lifter will have their own "style" of landing depending on their bodies, but there are always a few key points that we should shoot for when talking about positioning. . In this case with one of our Remote Athletes, the landing of the split is not even. One of the key points of the split jerk landing is that we should aim for a bent back leg in order to control what is happening with our bodies when receiving the barbell. . A split jerk landing should include: ✅Front shin perpendicular to the ground ✅Back knee bent, slightly below the hip ✅Shoulders, hips, hands, and back knee relatively in line . Stepping too far back or straightening the back leg can cause: 🚫Improper weight distribution 🚫Pushing the body forward in the landing 🚫Shoulders, hips, and back out of line . What’s the best supplement for.... - Yes, there are a few supplements I think most people can benefit from like a quality EPA/DHA supplement (think fish oil) and Probiotic. - But in regards to supplementing for muscle recovery, weight loss or performance, I have a Few very important questions: WTF does the food you eat everyday look like? If you want to lose weight but your calories/macro breakdown is incorrect, what’s the point of supplements? If you want to improve performance, what does your sleep, macro breakdown and stress levels look like? If you’re interesting in bulking and gaining muscle, are you eating enough to begin with? If you’re looking to supplement for health purposes only, are you eating enough vegetables and fiber regularly? Yes, supplements have their purpose. But if your everyday diet is not optimal to reach your goal, save the money and tweak a few things first -drink enough water -eat your micros (veggies people!) -improve sleep quality -manage stress as best as possible -ensure you’re eating the right amount for your goals Got those things down pat? Cool! Then considering supplementation might not be a total waste of money 💰
throw - jump - lift . jumping is one of the most athletic movements you can do: you can't jump slowly. there amazing for developing general explosiveness but can be highly sports specific when wanted to be. How an athlete jumps and more importantly lands says alot about whether an they are ready for other forms of power training: how a athlete absorbs force is a predictive factor for preventing injury. . throws because there fun. . heavy trap bar deadlift: first time I 've ever Maxed out this movement. . snatch and clean complexes for some quality volume: aim was just to move well. . just ticking over now till January with the training: no goals or targets just enjoyment. . gym : @roarstrength - go check them out on social 💪
