Pretty stoked to announce that I’ll be joining the @fnx_fit team for 2019. I’m using their cricket protein combined with @zerowater000 to aid in my training. I know how that sounds but it’s actually pretty great tasting and has way more nutritional value than your average proteins. On top of that it’s a very sustainable product with very low environmental impact. All that combined with what they’re doing to provide clean drinking water to those who don’t have it makes them the ideal product for a bleeding heart like me. Today marks officially 2 years since promoting to shodan. Hard to put into words how much this discipline has changed me all for the better and how much those changes has translated over to everyday life. I’m proud to be part of this tribe. To have the opportunities to pass on my training to new students, as I work towards improving mine. It can be a very humbling journey, but understanding that it’s about growth and not about instant results has taught me the importance of patience and the respect of our art. It has made be a better student, instructor and overall a better martial artist. Being willing to put your ego aside allows you to be open minded and build actual talent, and grow healthy confidence. This journey will never end, and I may never feel I’m where I should be, but without the chase there isn’t a reason to continue to move forward, and the passion is lost. There will always be ways to improve, learn and grow and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to chase that everyday.
#motivationmonday New week to start working on your goals. This off season I’m trying to build a little more muscle mass to make those heavy carries a little less draining. But I need to make sure I don’t lose speed in the process. 🦁👍🏽👍🏽 . . What are YOU working on???

One week ago since I crossed the finish line in Iceland. I said during and after the race that I will never do this race again, but it has changed to maybe. One and a half years ago I said I will never do a ultra race. Have now done 3 ultra races.
Sunday. Finishing up a full week of rest: no running, lifting or training of any kind (aside from the @ocrbeast.co Dead Hang Challenge - already got my 3:30 in!). After a long year of racing, taking the time to let my body just hang out for a bit is pretty essential. Tomorrow it’s back to the gym, and a week after that I’ll dust off my running shoes and get back to it. Feeling refreshed and ready to roll! 🏃🏻🤙🏻 #teamocrbeast#restdaybrags
The grind never stops... except when it does. You may get caught up in seeing people training or working out on social media, but understand that they have the same struggles as you in regards to “I don’t work as hard as them” or “Look at them always being fit and all that jazz.” It only takes a split second to snap a photo of yourself working out. What are they doing the rest of the time? Who knows, that’s not for us to know. The only thing we should focus on is “Am I living up to my own potential?” Don’t get distracted by other’s achievements or failures. Use them as motivation and inspiration to fuel your OWN desire. I find myself getting caught up in it all the time every time I open Instagram and see all these fit people doing fit things. Here I am posting a picture of myself clearly unedited and with no filters obviously *Sarcasm*. Maybe I did one pull-up that entire day and I caught this one on camera? You don’t know, and you don’t have to know, because all you should know is what you have done today, and what you will do today. #micdrop @brocrmedia #brocr @spartan @spartanrace #spartan#spartanrace#ocr @ocrbeast.co #ocrbeast#ocrbeastchallenge @ocr #obstaclecourseracing#exercise#workout#gym#fitness#fit @fnx_fit #fnxambassador#training#pullups#filters#inspiration#motivation @yancycampofficial #yancycamp @mudrunguide #mudrunguide
Day 15 of the @ocrbeast.co deadhang challenge has a special guest appearance by Skitch! This was infamous for many broken fingers at NorAm. Thanks Chris for bringing these in! No, I didn't do the challenge from them, as we got a taste before training, but I had to get a pic hanging from them. 😎 #ocrbeast#ocrbeastchallenge#ocrbeastdeadhangchallenge#canyouhang
That's a wrap on my 2018 season. The year was filled with lots of memories, new friends, many ups and downs, but that is life. Just remember every obstacle we face in life makes you stronger!! Thank you to everyone @lmagyar33 for the support and encouragement over the year to keep pushing and #neverquit @apass24 2019 planning is underway. I'll be refocusing my training on running with hopes of running an Ultra! #iwantthebuckle 🏃♂️🏋️♂️ “So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.”—Christoper Reeve
