Raise your hand if you like 🍌 ⠀ They’re a great source of many nutrients, particularly potassium, magnesium, and B6. But really, I eat them bc they’re sooo delicious, convenient, and cheap! ❤️. We eat them almost every single day ⠀ 🤔Did you ever wonder what happens as they change in color? If so, here you go! ⠀ green —> yellow —> brown as the 🍌ripens: ✅resistant starch content decreases ✅tastes sweeter - resistant starch turns into sugar ✅gets digested easier and quicker (causing a spike in the blood sugar) ✅some of the micronutrient levels decrease - happens with all produce to some degree once harvested ✅antioxidant levels increase ⠀ For babies and toddlers, really green #bananas may be too hard on their little tummies and can cause or make pre-existing constipation worse ⠀ they are a great source of #prebiotics though (check out my previous post). I purchase unripe banana and start offering it to Caleb when it is predominately yellow with a slight hint of green (as pictured). Yellow ones disappear ever so quickly around here, and the brown ones get used for baking 👍 ⠀ ⏰if you want to speed up the ripening process, place in a brown paper bag. if you want to slow it down then place in the refrigerator. I don’t know if you know this but i’m obsessed with any kind of salad and soup, it has nothing to do with being healthy or eating right but I could literally prefer a bowl of salad than any kind of dessert on this earth 😂 I guess it’s one of the reasons why any meal I eat has to include salad and green salad has it all 🥗  Chop some cucumbers, cherry tomato, lettuce, red onion and dill then dress with some virgin olive oil, lemon juice, pepper and salt and there you go easier than anything you could prepare 🥗♥️

Pasta con le acciughe😋 Ma come carboidrati per cena??😱 Di solito è meglio consumarli per pranzo, ma.. vi svelo un segreto....... se si mangiano ogni tanto per cena non si muore🤣 Ovviamente bisogna prestare attenzione (vale anche per il pranzo) alla porzione e SOPRATUTTO che i carboidrati vengano associati ad una fonte proteica!. Ed ecco che entrano in gioco le acciughe 😋 Le acciughe sono un alimento consigliabile anche dal punto di vista salutistico. Come tutto il pesce azzurro, anche le alici sono infatti ricche di nutrienti utili e hanno un contenuto energetico moderato. Le calorie delle alici provengono essenzialmente dalle proteine e in piccola parte dai grassi. Le proteine delle acciughe sono ricche di amminoacidi essenziali, presenti nelle giuste quantità, il che ne stabilisce un alto valore biologico. I lipidi, seppur non abbondanti, sono di grande interesse nutrizionale, poiché ricchi di acidi grassi omega 3 EPA e DHA. Il colesterolo è presente in quantità modeste. Per quel che riguarda le vitamine, spiccano le concentrazioni di alcune idrosolubili del gruppo B, come la riboflavina (vit B2) e la niacina (vit PP), e delle liposolubili calciferolo (vit D) e retinolo (vit A). In merito ai sali minerali, vi sono apprezzare ottimi livelli di iodio, selenio, ferro, calcio e fosforo.
