so i did something weird and threw sweet potatoes in a smoothie with banana, cinnamon, vanilla protein and the new @chameleoncoldbrew with oat milk and y’know what? it was actually reallyyy freakin’ good...who knew!🤯 . i’m not one of those people who steers clear of fruit because of the sugar, but i think smoothies are a perfect opportunity to sneak in some veggies and other nutrient-rich foods! . i’ve tried cauliflower in my smoothies before and it didn’t sit too well with my stomach, so i usually stick to spinach, kale or carrots, but i think sweet potato may be here to stay👏🏼 i just chopped one up, boiled it until soft, then stored it in the fridge until i was ready to use it. . have you tried putting veggies in your smoothies? i think i might try zucchini next!🥬🥕🥒

Everywhere you look is another 12-week booty guide or new diet that studies have shown will make unicorns pop out of your ass 🦄 So I want to remind you of a few things that I know I was confused about at one point in my journey 🌿 exercise doesn’t have to look like what you see on Instagram —— you do NOT have to have a gym membership or resistance bands for your exercise to beautiful and invigorating and VALID. dance. kayak. rock climb. walk your dog. do handstands in the park. Just move 💚 🌿 you don’t have to have a structured approach to diet —— counting macros, keto, carb cycling, reverse dieting, weight watchers; these are all just TOOLS 🔨 people choose to use to take the guess work out of nutrition. if you do a bit of research and get curious about nourishing foods and recipes you can absolutely eat solely based on your best judgement in each situation. Where my #intuitiveeaters at? 🙋🏽♀️ 🌿 CARBS ARE NOT BAD. —— your body needs carbs as its primary source of fuel. Yes you can use fat for energy but if you love bread and potatoes why deprive yourself? I know I don’t! 😋 not to mention your brain’s primary source of fuel is GLUCOSE aka carbs. 🧠🥔🍞 &last but not least... 🌿SKINNY DOES NOT EQUAL HEALTHY. Low body weight does not equal healthy. Abs don’t even equal healthy. Your external representation is far from the whole story of your health. You can eat like shit 💩 but if you still burn more calories each day than you eat you’ll lose weight but your body will be suffering and you’ll be at higher risk for more conditions than I have time to list. I’m beginning to realize how important it is to be enthusiastic in life. If you are interested in something go for it, no matter what it is, go at it full speed. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. lukewarm is no good! I’m learning to slow down and focus on the things I want in my life, only saying yes to things that fill my cup and to say no to things that don’t.

Your offering to yourself, your offering to every person who comes in to contact with you throughout your day, your week, your life.’ Your yoga practice, your therapy appointments, your quiet time, these are all ways you offer love to yourself so that you can love others more fully. ⠀⠀ Central Arkansas friends, I hope you’ll join me for the next New Moon workshop on Sunday, May 5th. I thought the binging had stopped. . . . I’ve talked about my binge eating before; I dealt with it mostly in grad school and my mid twenties. But most people don’t know that becoming a mom made my emotional eating come back with a vengeance. It was so much worse. Motherhood is wonderful and such a blessing, but it was also incredibly stressful for me! . . When I became a mom two years ago, my stress eating got worse for a while. The changes that go with having a new baby, the fear of messing her up, breast-feeding around the clock, and lack of sleep triggered all those emotions and caused me to start emotionally eating again. . . At this point, I felt like it my food choices were taking over my life. One treat turned into a week-long binge. It had just become a terrible habit and slowed down my consistency with the healthy lifestyle I craved. I KNEW I needed to find a way out...and I did! . . I started focusing on nutrients and not calories. I started FILLING my plate with healthy foods instead of cutting things out. I established a method of “Addition Nutrition,” which is what I currently teach my clients. I focused on abundance instead of restriction...and things finally turned around. . . Mamas, what we do is HARD. The stress can get to you, whether it’s a stressful job, #momlife, finances, or health. But what I’ve learned is that stress eating only ADDS to what we are already stressed about and doesn’t help us in the long term. My clients and I have found a way to fuel our bodies and nourish ourselves; body mind & soul. You too can better deal with the stress and start enjoying your healthy self without deprivation! . . PSA: fewer calories does not mean it’s “healthier”!! It just has less energy!! Many nutrient dense, wholesome foods are high in calories. But it’s not anything to be afraid of, it just gives your body more energy! 💪🏼 ✱The word “calorie” has been engraved in our head as something bad. When really... they give us energy to survive. ✱I overheard someone say that “donuts are healthier than açaí bowls because they have fewer calories.” No hate on donuts, love a good donut. But I just wanna say... 1. Natural fruit sugars are different than refined sugars. They get metabolized differently and provide your body with tons of nutrients and energy that a donut would not. 2. The caloric content of a food simply refers to energy not the nutritional value of that food 3. Eat better, not less!! Brb while I enjoy my bomb açaí bowl 😍💪🏼😝🍌🍓

Use an app like @headspace to help with meditation before bed. Now meditation may sound hard or like it’s a weird concept. But it helps you refocus on how your body is feeling and helping it let go and help your mind let go as well before you go to bed. There are some great basic 2-3 minute meditations on the app specifically for sleep too! There is a wealth of different meditations to help you with anything from anxiety, sleep, work, balance, regret, literally they have meditations for all of it!
