Here's a detail of a set I designed in February featuring a color I've been exploring for a while now: mauve. I used it for this burning man inspired set: synthetic color for a temporary city. 💖 I became obsessed with the color when I used it on a mural last November. Scroll around to see it all over my work 🌸🍇 Mauve was the first synthetic dye ever made, created unintentionally in 1850s. Before then, colored clothes were made with natural materials, so certain colors were restricted to people who could afford them. Mostly royalty and the super wealthy wore purple, so when mauve got popular it caused a craze. There was an equality to color for the first time ever. People were obsessed. I'm obsessed. ✨✨✨✨✨ Help on this set from @silkbat @ted_ringeisen @infinitepatty. They shopped and pinned and physically held onto the set with their bodies when an epic wind storm came through.
