4/21 exercise should be added to your morning routine. I know, you know, that exercise is important. But what difference does it make to exercise in the morning, and why do the successful people do it? Exercise is good for you, we all know that. Remember the last topic about getting up early and not having any distractions? If you start exercising in the morning you have fewer distractions and fewer excuses to get in that workout. So true!!! But that’s not the only reason. Getting in your exercise in the morning helps set you up for success in several ways! It wakes you up! No more making your morning breakfast half awake before your caffeine hit finally kicks in! Fewer distractions. You have nothing to distract you when you’re up before everyone else and it’s your first task of the day. You have already completed the first task of the day, Exercise helps stimulate your mind. Getting the heart pumping and the blood flowing first thing is going to help you get your mind going for the rest of the day. Do whatever exercise you enjoy first thing in the morning. I am not a morning person, but I find I am energized and feel good to start my day after I do a workout!!! I recommend at least a 10-15 minute stretching yoga routine to help start your day. Even simple stretching can really help you feel awesome, energize your, and help get your body ready for the day. Do anything to get your body moving for at least 20 mins!
Just the same as you need to get out of bed early, successful people start their day by doing some mental exercises. How do you do this? You use gratitude as a secret weapon to put yourself into a positive mental state. Gratitude is the process of being thankful for what you already have! How does this work? It is impossible to be negative while you are truly thankful for what you already have. It also helps bring you to a present moment (mindfulness) instead of worrying about the past or the future. Gratitude does not have to be a huge event of the day. You can write down what you are grateful for, or while you’re working out, go over and think of everything you are happy and grateful for.
