This picture can only mean one thing. Tomorrow is a day 19,408 bricks in the making. Yes, you read that correctly.19,408 bricks chipped, stacked and wrapped by Chris and I. 19,408 bricks created in the 1800s and salvaged by us. Months and months of chipping off 160 year old mortar to reveal pristine pieces of local history. Smashed fingers and shins, wearing holes in endless pairs of gloves and consuming more red bull than I care to admit 🤦🏻♀️. 19,408 Cream City brick. Tomorrow the hard work pays off and the cottage gets her Cream City brick 😍.
I love the smell of a fresh house! This is where things get really exciting on a project!! We had the privilege of getting in early on this project at the drawings stage so we could impact the overall space planning and kitchen and bathroom design to make sure that things were going to fit our clients lifestyle. We’ve had showroom meetings to select tile, counters bathroom fixtures, and cabinetry, even window trim. Next we’re planning electrical and exterior finishing and colors, along with putting furnishing plans together. Building a home of this size involves many decisions and a lot of hands. We’re honored to be a part of the team! 🔨 🏠
Tired eyes, children who don’t sleep, we bicker .. a lot.. we aren’t perfect.. we spend 99 percent of our time chasing after the kids , but I generally don’t know what I would do without you.. through the good and the bad you have always had my back.. and from the moment I met you.. you have proved to me 100 percent that you will be there.. right now we are living for our children because in years to come they will be living their own lives and we will be back to doing things for us 💕. #housedecoration#reallifequotes#newbuildhome#newbuildprogress#parents#parenting
First day back at work and I’m shattered, I think I’m coming down with something because I’m feeling like a slug ☹️😓 Hope you all had a lovely Tuesday 💕 I’m still buzzing from Game if Thrones last night - did anyone else watch it 👀 give me your thoughtsssssss! 🙆🏻♀️ . . Of course, Pinterest inspiration 😍 the colours go together so well... I’m considering this combo for my living room as they work beautifully 👌🏼 - I wasn’t always a fan of ‘wood furniture’ but I think it’d go really well with the grey/autumn vibe I’m considering for the living room 🍁
Late evening design meeting at our Swinford showroom tonight. The clients want the mantle to be the main feature in the kitchen. How stunning is this image from a kitchen we shot last year. In our opinion truly timeless.#newbuildhome #classicdesign#trevormcdonnellkitchens#interiors
Instagram vs. Reality - Behind every beautiful house picture is quite often a not quite so beautiful reality. This is our beautiful family bathroom, with the bronze Amtico flooring that I absolutely fell in love with the moment I saw it. Unfortunately about 9 weeks ago it started lifting in front of the toilet. When we saw water bubbling out from under the tiles we contacted our builder as we knew there had to be a slow water leak somewhere. They refused to take any responsibility for this, despite us only having lived in the house for 5 months at that point. They insisted the water must have seeped between the tiles from the surface...Queue a length dispute with them, which came to them ignoring our emails until we threatened to contact the NHBC. Then, they decided to come and take a look... what did we discover? The toilet is leaking and probably has been since before we moved in. Thankfully, they now seem to be inclined to fix the issue (watch this space). The moral of my story - stand up for your rights. The house builders have a duty of care towards you. If you believe in your heart of hearts that a problem with your house is not caused by you. Don’t give up. P.s. the floor has now had a week to dry out, but the mould and the smell is horrific #homeinspiration#homeinspo#familyhome#home#newbuildhome#newbuild#newbuildproblems#builder#housebuilders#newbuilduk#newhome#bathroomdesign#bathroom
