5 T h i n g s A b o u t M e 1. Christmas is my favorite. I think it’s because I love tradition, twinkly lights and Jesus. 2. I could tell you the story behind every single ornament on my trees. Yes, plural. 3. I’m a storyteller at heart. It’s who I am and how I process the world around me. 4. There is only one thing I love more than the scent of a real tree...it’s the smell of a Thyme’s Fraiser Fir candle 5. My favorite Christmas Carol is Oh Oh Come Emmanuel at church, The Holly and The Ivy at home and Wintersong in the car. #navigatingthroughnovember#navigatingthroughnovember2018#lifeisgood#beherenow#decemberreflections#decemberchallenge
November was’ busy. #noblenovember a time of celebrations and laughter. ‘Not to forget some ‘contemplation ‘. Ancestors wonder what we ‘fear’ Yet find ‘heart’ in that ‘cool’’feel’. November remember too many appointments. a time of ambivalent weather whether or not we were ready. then again #mindfulphotosmindfulmoments and ... #navigatingthroughnovember began ‘crisp’ moved through ‘puddle’(s) and ended with a ‘goal’. a poem or two smoothed our way. How many memories filled your November?
Play for #navigatingthroughnovember . Fiona and Daddy have taken to playing the card game War with these teeny tiny cards. I typically say no to playing with her because I have much to do and don't want her expecting anything in the future. But I have to remember that what I do they'll do and I want them to prioritize play in their lives as adults too. So I vow to make sure the holidays are full of games and laughter. Memories of family time is all I really have to give them after they've outgrown the toys Santa has brought them. . Today on my blog, My Cup is Half Full. Link in my profile to my blog at Shalavee.com. . I thank @ofearthandstars for giving me focus through the month. #familytime#mywisdomlessons#taleswithfriends#ontheblog#shalavee
We ate out at a restaurant for Thanksgiving because I just need a break from the forced pressure cooker every year. But today, the giving and the thanks continue as I cook the turkey I bought for 5 bucks because I still wanted the leftovers. . I have so enjoyed the time off from having to do. I needed it and I allowed for it. Thankful for the family that includes me and the ones I couldn't be with. I hold a tender place for those who felt unloved during this holiday of community. I will light this candle for you and the forgiveness that you are due. . #navigatingthroughnovember#selfdevelopment#emotionalmaturity#storyofmyday#taleswithfriends#vacationmode#familytime
I’m not sure what #fanciful forest spirit is responsible for this, but the leaves always fall into a path down the middle of our deck. Even after a blustery day they never stray towards the house or the railing. I’m sure there is a scientific explanation, but I’ll blame the sprites. #navigatingthroughnovember
On the shelf, take two. #navigatingthroughnovember This is about 2/3 of my TBR shelf. It hasn't budged that much since the last photo I took of it, a year and a half ago, because I'm reading mostly ebooks these days! (My virtual TBR shelf is bigger...) But I do still buy paperbacks and they do get read...eventually. 😳#readerproblems #tbrshelf#shelfie
Today was my day to dine and hang with my gals. Lunch and wine with my favorite people in my house at my table eating my psole. Awesomeness! I needed this so much. Made my week better knowing I had this to look forward to. I love you all so much @warriormiss @sue_in_caroline_co.md @karen.phebus @annielivingstone #fanciful#taleswithfriends#navigatingthroughnovember#friendship#soul_selfie
What’s my #drinkofchoice is the silliest question I’ve heard all week. A single block, 100% whole cluster, neutral oak, Oregon Willamette Valley Pinot Noir made by @jesusguilleno of @guillenfamilywines and served at @dundeehillswinelibrary is the obvious answer. It is immensely sad to lose such a talent, but even sadder is the fact that people won’t get to share with him the joy his wine brings to their lives. He just wanted to make amazing wine and share it with as many people as he could. His humble and joyful soul will be missed more than anything else. I thank you Jesus for the past 10 years of wine, conversation and friendship and I look forward to our paths crossing again one day...CHEERS! #navigatingthroughnovember
Sparkling. #navigatingthroughnovember First real snowfall of the season last night, but it's definitely not the sparkly kind. I am not in a winter mood yet (except for craving stews and soups and winter squash). Blech.
