"We can speak without voice to the trees and the clouds and the waves of the sea. Without words they respond through the rustling of leaves and the moving of clouds and the murmuring of the sea." -Paul Tillich
Documents show that since 1980’s a whole generation has become separated from nature. It shows that from 1997-2003 outdoor play has been decreased with 50 percent for children from 9-12 year. Natural and free play is decreasing tremendously. Research shows that less contact with natural environments has significant effect on physical and mental health. New research investigations are suggesting that exposure to nature can reduce ADHD symptoms, as well as heighten children’s cognitive abilities, and their resilience to negative energy & depression. I believe we all find these results well known. This is not new to us. We have known nature’s effect on humans in ages. Nevertheless, we have never seen so many children with physical and mental illnesses as we are witnessing in our time. It seems that we try to make op for the increasingly use of electronic we see today by suggesting our children more outdoor actvities. To me it’s not that simple though. How do we combine theory and practice. To me it’s obvious that we need to change our way of living. Change how we connect with nature, and how we live by the wisdom that nature heals. I believe we have seen that it’s really not about treating symptoms anymore. We need to go to the source. This simply shows me that our children doesn’t thrive in the way we live our everyday life. I have felt this on my own body. I know the feeling of not feeling good in my environment, and feeling depressed and anxious. So this is not only science to learn in the matter of our children, but all of us. That’s why we have chosen to settle a bit different than what the norm is prescribing. We have never been happier and more healthy. 🌿 If you want to read more about this subject I highly recommend the book: Last child in the woods by Richard Louv.
Good morning! Hippocrates said “All disease starts in the gut”. My leaky gut was certainly one of the main components to my ill health. Aside from the thyroid, I had every single symptom on this list. It was when the sinus problems, coupled with severe dark circles under my eyes. Then severe anxiety attacks followed, so I went to a western doctor which is rare for me. They told me to get on musinex, which I reluctantly took, not a fan of drugs. Of course you know the story, it didn’t work, and when I called the doctor to see if he wanted to see me again to figure it out, they told me to keep taking the musinex. That’s when I stopped it, and put all my attention on my gut...more to follow...! BTW, I like Dr. Axe. Look him up on you tube, he has some very informative advice on functional medicine. I applied many of his ideas. . . . . #fuctionalmedicine#foodismedicine#reversedisease#hiatalhernia #healnatually#godisgreat#nostress#healyourselfofanything#guthealth#palntbaseddiet#adrenalfatigue #walk#45minwalks#getoutofla#natureheals#smellflowers#leakygut#guthealth#draxe
While it seems like a trendy word right now I believe there is a witch in all women. A witch is simply a woman in her power, owning and following her incredible intuition and extremely deep connection to the earth. She experiences the seasons and moon phases deeply. She’s passionate and creative. She has this deep inner knowing from past lives and is well aware that there is more to this life than meets the eye. She is connected to her masculine side as much as she is to the divine feminine. She knows it’s fully ok to be vulnerable, that she can be full of grace, beauty and love one moment and angry, sad or grief stricken the next and it doesn’t make her any less. And while some might partake in your more traditional ideas of a witch...spells, rituals, crystal grids and full moon ceremonies. Others offer healing to the world through their love, their skills or their use of oils and herbs. Some witches are found in their kitchen feeding families, some in their gardens with their hands into the earth. Others are building fires to connect and share stories with each other or are gathering women in circles each week to dance, meditate and heal together. It’s time to build this community up, to gather in circles vs running in them. We need this deep respect and connection to each other and we need each person fully present in their true nature and wisdom. My circle is open to you, it’s supportive and non judgmental. Be you and join me by my fire, around my table or at any of my meditation nights and yoga classes! 🔮💖🧘🏻♀️🌺🌕🔥🌳 #wakethewitch#natureheals#circlesofwomen#spiritualconnection#weriseupbyliftingothers
I believe one of the most widespread tragedies in the world is realizing you’re living the life others want you to live, not the life you want to live. Following what you are led to believe is the way, rather than what you believe is the way. Striving for success that’s defined for you, rather than by you. I know because I experienced it, and came out the other side. I’ve evolved into a much different version of myself throughout my journey. I’m far from who I was and I’m always excited to see who I’ll become and where I’ll go next. Are you living the life you want to live, or the life someone else wants you to live? 🙏🏼🤙🏼
En lo Salvaje Llévame a un lugar hermoso Donde la naturaleza vive — Donde aún respira. Bailemos al cantar de los grillos Mientras la oscuridad revela, Las estrellas, que en lo alto brillan. In the Wild Take me to a beautiful place Where nature lives — Where it’s still breathing. Let’s dance to the songs of crickets While the darkness reveals, The stars, shining above. — Clariel Estevez Photo: @godomrep #100thseed
Man’s heart, away from nature, becomes hard; [the Lakota] knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect for humans too. – Luther Standing Bear @rambleonwild #childrenofmountains
This is me earlier this morning trying to workout what the therapist said is a pea-sized knot in my back that has my entire body screaming in chaos. Wog in nature, weights, stretching and blasting. Still, I’m sore. But, like life, I keep working at it. It’s easy to cave to that internal voice screaming “why me? I take care of myself better than most!” I’m frustrated, sad, anger, stressed. About my health and life. But, I’m also thankful and blessed. I have a team of people helping me - @elegantalchemy @sappfamilychiropracticllc @kbarricella + my friends, family and my pup! I’ve got a pretty decent (and dark) sense of humor that keeps me going and perseverance is in my DNA. Letting go - how? I wish it would magically descend soon. Grace. I pray for grace. In the meantime, I do what I can to nourish my body, mind, spirit - nature, work, creativity, time with friends, work on the new biz, eat as organically as I can, drink my decaf green tea and other healthy sips, some chocolate protein “pudding” shake, take my supplements. Also, set boundaries. Disengage as needed. Move. Rest. Use my oils. Today: Fulfill Your Destiny, Eucalyptus Globulous + Citrus Fresh. The citrus really helps when I start to feel lost in the pit/blues. DYK: Simply smelling an orange improves mood and reduces anxiety. Life really is abundant. We’re just trained to see the lack vs the richness. Reduce the clutter. Grab an orange. Peel it slowly and enjoy the benefits of its fresh scent. Savor the flavor. No orange? Order some orange essential oil - keep it on hand and use it! (It lasts longer than an orange-DM if you need help finding a quality oil to avoid toxins). #orange#essentialoils @youngliving #natureheals#move#rest#green#lifestyle#wellness#nourish#bodymindspirit#waitingongrace#sos#humor
On ticks, Browntown moth, and bittersweet... Where I live in Maine, the last couple of years we have seen the spread of Browntown moth and ticks and choking bittersweet in the woods. The prevalent response, at least in my town, is to wage war on these invaders. These bringers of disease, these itchy nuisances, these chokers of native plants. This is the way humans have operated for a long time. We are judgmental beings. We identify strongly with victim mentality. And we have identified these parts of nature that are our enemies and we act accordingly. I’d probably be laughed out of the room, but I believe these beings have their own intelligence and their own reason for being here. And they have something to teach us if we would only listen. Perhaps they are protecting the Earth? Keeping us out of the woods, or even our gardens, where we keep waging a chemical and physical war on the natural and wild intelligence of the Earth. Perhaps they are asking us to take notice of how we are treating the earth. All beings want to be loved and want to know love and see themselves as loved. I don’t believe the ticks are out to get us, or the brown tail moths either. If we are to live in a world, create a world, that is founded on love and peace, then we will have to start including all beings. #earthmother#forgiveus#wagepeace#itstime
"You see the forest, but I see the trees." -MJ Each flower has a unique perspective and is not a direct replication of it's sister or cousin. Together they make a beautiful field or the trees make the forest, but it's the sum of the parts that make the whole. Comparing ourselves to another only leads to us forgetting what is beautiful in ourselves. We all have imperfections and some of them are less visible than others and affect our lives differently. I've been forgetting that I'm a piece in a puzzle and not a final answer, particularly with those I work with and I see them struggle with comparing themselves to others, as I make the mistake of doing the same thing and ostracizing myself. This flower here is beautiful in and of itself and contributes to the beauty of the place it's in as a whole. Lesson learned to stand strong. #flowersandstuff#natureheals#lifelessonswithaflower#paradigmshift
EARTH DAY FOREST BATHING Such a peaceful session on Monday evening. The perfect way to end the long weekend and for me, a wonderful way to land more firmly back in this land, this time zone after my travels. Mother Nature extended her warm welcome and we softened into her embrace as we soaked up the sights and sounds of the beautiful woods.
When you’re a baby gardener, you celebrate every time your English roses throw you a bloom! 3 years ago I felt like I was wilting inside. And I realized that even though I lived in the gorgeous countryside, I rarely spent time outside. So I braved my fear of failure and started gardening. It’s become a healing practice for me. Every bloom warms my heart. It’s something that I do for myself only, not an easy task for a brain that grew up trying to please. So, of course I picked one of the hardest plants, and I went to town 🤣. It’s been worth every pained sigh trying to figure out what my girls (what I call the rose bushes) need now. What do you do that’s just for you, nobody else? #davidaustinroses#englishroses#gardeningmakesmehappy#selfcare#acupuncturist#natureheals
I have started rising before the sun. I sip hot lemon water, meditate, talk with God, listen to the birdies, watch the bunnies play and the sky wake up. . It’s an absolutely beautiful way to start the day! ☀️🐦🐰🙏🏼 🍋 💗
Its #earthday2019! Get outside into Nature & charge yourself! Have you ever heard of #earthing? 👣 Spending time barefoot in Nature will realign you with the resonance of our Mother Earth. So many of us are wearing rubber soles that completely disconnects us from that abundant energy. Is it any wonder we aren't protecting what we all have in common...what we all should be lovers & guardians of #🌎#🌍#🌏 For all my fellow #aiki/#reiki Practioners out there...did you know Misogi was originally practiced in the Ocean🌊🌊🌊
