I'm a little late for #nationalbisonday (Nov 3) but I love Bison, and I love the revival of herds of Bison and other heritage breeds of ruminants through farmers using sustainable and regenerative methods like #holisticgrazing and #holisticmanagement . They are doing much needed work with ancient animals that evolved with the land and are the best thing for it and for us! 🐂🐂🐂🐂🌱🌄 #repost @goroamfree (@get_repost) ・・・ "Today is #nationalbisonday, a day that celebrates the recovery and continued preservation of our National Mammal. We are celebrating the hard work of Michel Pablo. Pablo, a local tribal member, saved the last eight wild bison in Montana and defied congressional leanings to completely eradicate the existence of all bison. It is through his efforts, and those who continue to ranch bison, that we afforded the opportunity to eat, see and be inspired by this unique species. This December we will be releasing a second herd for Roam Free within the Flathead Reservation on more of the original land Pablo ranched his bison on. We are proud to be restoring his legacy of preserving bison for future generations through free enterprise."

I didn’t know about National bison day last Saturday until today.. I guess me being here in prairies this afternoon is meant to be 😁 Осознание того, что сегодня ночью пойдёт первый снег выгнало меня в погожий солнечный денёк в ...

👌 @platteriverpower #didyouknow? The bison herds at Rawhide Energy Station serve as Platte River's environmental ambassadors, demonstrating that wildlife can coexist with responsibly-operated generation facilities. #NationalBisonDay #publicpower
Buffalo Nickel fans 🔊 did you know #dyk yesterday was National Bison Day?! How cool 😎 #repost @smithsoniannmnh ・・・ Happy #nationalbisonday! #dyk the American Bison (Bison bison) is one of the largest land mammals in North America?
In honor of #nationalbisonday on Saturday we thought it would be good to learn about the past, enjoy the present, and plan for the future of our national mammal. Follow the link in our bio for the Prairie Pulse article “Bison History and Progress”
Taken from @nationalparkservice Facebook page. Bison are much more than America's largest land mammal. They are an essential part of American history and embody the strong and resilient characteristics of the American people. Through ongoing conservation work, bison are recovering from a low of fewer than 1,000 individuals. Today 17 federally managed herds roam the American Plains. We saw a bison on National Bison Day!🙌 .. Well, several hundred of them at the Antelope Island annual bison roundup. We just so happened to be in town for it, so we for sure had to go. .. The earth and all that inhabits it kinda starts to settle as winter creeps in. Many parks and natural destinations close or limit their availability during this time of year, so it was exciting to stumble upon something so unique! .. Did you know that we only have bison in the states? And, that they are more closely related to cows than actual buffalo? Whaaat?! Cause legit buffalo are very different and live in Asia and Africa? The emoji is right!! 🐃 👈 that, my friends, is a buffalo! .. Happy Belated National Bison Day! 🎉 If you missed it yesterday like we did, then I encourage you to make up for it today by eating an extra piece of Halloween candy from that stash you keep telling yourself to leave alone...or maybe that’s just me?😉. .. .. #nationalbisonday#adventure#travel#antelopeisland#travelfamily#bison#utah
‘Now stood he there, And stared, with head uplifted, at the skies, Slow-yielding to his deep and mortal wound, He seemed to pour his mighty spirit out, As thus he gazed, till my own spirit burned, And teeming fancy, charmed and overwrought, By all the wildering glamour of the scene, Gave to that glorious attitude a voice, And, rapt, endowed the noble beast with song.’ - Charles Mair, Wither the White Man. #nationalbisonday#nationalparks#yellowstone#yellowstonenationalpark#bison#buffalo

Happy #nationalbisonday (I'm a bit late) 🐂 When I was hiking through the prairie or even driving I would try to imagine the landscape filled with them with populations in the millions like they historically where; what an incredible sight that must have been. These creatures are huge and beautiful and also (I can sure tell you) terrifying up close and it is amazing to see them begin to return to the prairie. I hope someday everyone gets the chance to see these amazing animals but PLEASE REMEMBER if you do... They are wild and dangerous so please do not approach them!
Happy #nationalbisonday ! 🎉 Bison are americas largest land mammal, and they have been around throughout all of American history. They are a terrific example of how a species suffering to survive can be helped due to conservation efforts of zoos, national parks, and ranches. About two months ago I had the privilege of seeing my first wild Bison while visiting Yellowstone National Park. I was completely in awe watching them graze and hearing their grunts. Before leaving the park I saw a herd of what looked to be more than 100 all in a meadow! Now I work with a different, but amazing herd of Bison everyday and I am so honored to watch and help this incredible species!
