From our @eco_companion Journalist @s_marga who just posted this.. Why young people appreciate nature less? Have you ever noticed this? During our trip to Yellowstone it was almost surprising to see young groups of people exploring around here. I have noticed the same when I was working in Alaska, about 80% of the passengers on our ship were 60+. What is the reason behind? Expensive? No, it is not, as I mentioned before I spent 10 days here exploring for 500$, also I bet a weekend partying on a boat in Ibiza is much more expensive than this. Boring? Kidding me!? Nature here blew my mind, thought me so many things about environment, space, wildlife and life, much more than I can learn from books and online. I choose exploring nature over cities every time and it is sometimes upsetting to realise that people are not the same, that for someone being in a museum, traveling by taxi, and sleeping in is more important than hiking, seeing nature and getting inspired by new places. If children lose contact with nature they won't fight for it in the future. Have kids? Take them away from TV and laptop and make them go camping and explore nature so they start appreciating it more and learning from it. The collapse of children's engagement with nature is even faster than the collapse of the natural world itself! It is upsetting! We should not let that happen! #volunteers#mytaleinnature#conservationist#naturelife#ethicaltourism#maxsinclair#animalconservation#naturehippys#trekking#elephantconservation#ecolodging#ecology#orangutanconservation
The lion is suffering from a bit of mange on her face, but the policy in this reserve and the national parks is not to interfere in natural processes, so she won't get any treatment for the condition. However, if she were suffering from some affliction or injury caused by man she would get medical treatment.
One of our fav @eco_companion Journalist @itsvanessadixon who kills it again... Last week I learnt... . The beliefs we have about ourselves are built on references from our past, which means we can change them, they're not set in stone (that goes for any belief). . How to actually be present and enjoy where I am in this moment now + how to chill out & be in the moment of relaxing - not fretting about all the things I'm not doing. . Being out in nature is 100% the best place for me to be 🌱 . How to let go of craving the validation of others (caring so much about what other people think). . How fostering more gratitude in my life, and being grateful for as many things as I can now, is the key to happiness 💛 . What did you learn last week?? #ethicaltourism#conservationprojects#max#ecoturismo#ecoprojects#lovewildlife#ecotour#ecotraveling#sustainabletravelling#teachabroad#mytaleinnature#natureshot#naturelover
Our EC Journalist @itsvanessadixon who brings us this gem! "Keep your face always towards the sunshine, and the shadows will fall behind you." ☀️🌻 This is one of my favourite quotes, and serves as a reminder for me to shift my mind and thoughts to the more positive side of things wherever possible (cause if ya have to focus on something, I'd rather it be uplifting rather than something that brings me down). Stay focused on the things that bring you joy, and soak up the present moment. Believe in the good things coming!!! ✨🎉 #mytaleinnature#ecotec#animalwelfare#naturephotography#ecoking#naturepic#wildlifeart#ecotraining#ecoliving#naturegram
Planet call center in Bonifacio Global City Metro Manila Philippines representing the colors of the rainbow 🌈 for pride month. The level of free thinking, open mindedness exhibited by the companies here is refreshingly surprising. The corporate initiatives include contests for all the teams to exhibit their appreciation of lifestyle choice and gender fluid acceptance. The contest guidelines I received via HR email would surely create a stir in the U.S., kudos to the Philippines for shaking up the status quo of stereotyping, bias and non-acceptance still present in much of the world. #itsmanilabaybee
