If every time you look at the scale, you're searching for more than small change, you're going to be sorely disappointed.⁣ ⁣ Because FAST DOESN'T LAST.⁣ ⁣ And you deserve so much more than the fleeting (and frustrating) fat loss that comes with the diet culture roller coaster ride.⁣ ⁣ Sure, you could slash your calories, give up your favorite snacks and sweets, exercise every day, avoid meals out and m a y b e the scale would show you something "good enough"and insta-worthy.⁣ ⁣ But for how long?⁣ ⁣ ❓Are you going to give up your favorite snacks and sweets forever? ⁣ ❓Are you going to adhere to that workout regimen consistently? ⁣ ❓Are you going to live on a caloric intake designed for a two year old long-term?⁣ ⁣ If your answer is no, like most of my clients when they initially invest in coaching, you're riding the diet culture roller coaster - living to lose weight you'll only gain back later.⁣ ⁣ Because FAST DOESN'T LAST.⁣ ⁣ If you're looking for fat loss that lasts (read as: it comes off and it stays off because you're confident with the healthy habits and behaviors that got you there) you need to learn to be okay with slow progress.⁣ ⁣ Look beyond the scale. Down 40 lbs! It's not always about the number but when I can see the progress of the work I'm putting in it's a good feeling. I plateaued for a bit and didn't lose anything for about 2.5 weeks even though I was staying consistent with my eating and exercise. I broke through it but I'm not sure how or why that was happening. I listened to some family and friends in this community that reminded me it was temporary and encouraged me not to lose focus or get frustrated. Very thankful to have some amazing people in my corner. 💪🏼💜 If anyone has advice for the future about plateaus and what can cause them or healthy ways to get out of them, I'd really appreciate your input!
