There was a wonderful sense of cinema in the Himachali Gian Jyoti College and the Masrehar Women Collective! DIFF and Jagori Grameen Charitable Trust organized a screening of the 2017 Ektara Collective film, "Turup," and the 2016 Shubhashish Bhutiani film, "Mukti Bhawan." With a total of 58 participating individuals, eyes were glued to the screenings followed by a lively discussion! A massive thank you to the filmmakers, @ektaracollective and @shubhashishb for letting their films become a part of our communities here. We will be holding our community screenings in villages, colleges and jails across Dharamshala and neighbouring areas so stay tuned to see what we have planned! . . #community#screening#diffindia#diff2018#headtothemountains#turup#muktibhawan

Mukti Bhawan – The hotel where people check-in to die and to attain salvation (moksha). Mukti Bhavan sees thousands of visitors every year. What does people want after death? No, it is not heaven but moksha. Moksha is the Hindu concept of liberation from the trials and tribulations of life. It is when you give up all materialistic pleasures and become one with your self or the Atman. Though moksha or true liberation can be attained even while living, it is belived that attaining moksha on your death-bed frees you from the cycle of life-and-death and your soul is free ever-after. #varanasi#muktibhawan #meditation.
