The mind and body are connected as one…obviously. The brain ultimately is what you are however, the body is just a vessel you’re controlling…trippy I know.⠀ ⠀ The brain pretty much controls everything from movement, hormone regulation, and of course cognitive ability. The thing is, if you are feeling stressed, depressed, worried etc, this will have a knock on effect on your body. Negative thought processes, lead to a negative impact on the body. There are many studies out there looking at the impact of mental stress on the body, news flash….it’s pretty bad.⠀ ⠀ Depression also leads to lethargy which leads to you not going to the gym, eating ‘bad foods’ and LOOSING YOUR GAINS.⠀ ⠀ Interestingly it has been found that how stressed you think you are can have more of an negative impact on your body, compared to how stressed you actually are… now that sounds like a bad thing…which it is. But if you look at the positives, these findings are telling us that we can train our mind to better its way of thinking, to make us feel less stressed, thus negating actual impacts of stress itself….MIND BLOWN.⠀ ⠀ You have to put time aside to focus on your mental health, whether that’s 5 minutes of meditation a day, visualizing positive thoughts, breathing techniques, and so on. There are plenty of techniques you can use to better your mental health, do a quick google search and see what works for you. ⠀ ⠀ You don’t have to take ages every day doing this, trust me when I say you are probably your own worst enemy.
