the daily work of motherhood | last night was a rough night, my little pisces Griffin was in so much pain with being sick, writhing + crying in his sleep, and wanted my comfort even though I was sleeping right next to him. So today, I’m deeply exhausted. It reminded me of the early days of motherhood, the sleepless nights, the crying and trying to soothe a newborn. Motherhood, this last four years has been such a journey. My expectations have shifted, as they’ve grown, I’ve grown. As they have gotten a little older I find they need or want me a little less, which is bittersweet and liberating all in one breath. But this week they’ve needed more of me. Today I’m reminded that motherhood takes daily emotional and spiritual work. It is equal amounts of caring, patience, balance, release, compassion, boundaries + doing your best. Because you as much as you love your child you truly can’t fix everything. Today we went to @allthingswildnaturecentre I absolutely love this place!! There is so much to do and see unlike some other places where you’ve done it all by lunch time 🙈 we are going to get an annual pass for next year 🍁🖤

I planted these seeds along with everything else in very early spring and gave them everything I thought they needed. (Cosmos tree well in that spot last year) They didn’t do too much, and I all but gave up on them. I have started listening to 3 different podcasts (@risenmotherhood, @coffeeandcrumbs and #risepodcast) and I feel like I have to admit now that I am a podcast junkie 😅 I listen to them in the car and while getting ready in the morning. This morning I listened to the Rise Podcast with @msrachelhollis. She discussed her Five to Thrive and I feel like everyone could benefit from these five things that can make a great impact on your life if you do them DAILY. ✨Drink half your body weight in ounces ✨Exercise 30 minutes ✨Give up 1 food category for 1 month (sugar, pop, fast food, fried food, etc.) . ✨Wake up 1 hour earlier (which means going to bed 1 hour earlier!) to make time for yourself - exercise, read, drink coffee, etc) ✨Write down 10 things you are grateful for that day . .
