Celaeno (aka “Autism Cat”) likes to crawl under my head (I mean AGGRESSIVELY PUSH her way under my face!) when I’m sleeping so my cheek rests on her soft belly. ...she was a raised by my dog, so I can’t say it’s at all mysterious where she acquired this behavior. ...most of my animals are abnormally affectionate(okay, let’s be honest, it’s almost absurd really) but clearly there is a common denominator among them. The goal of meditation is to go beyond the mind and experience our essential nature—which is described as peace, happiness, and bliss. But as anyone who has tried to meditate knows, the mind itself is the biggest obstacle standing between ourselves and this awareness. Calm your mind, focus, breathe, clear the mind to take on your week 🙏🏼📿 Is meditation is new to you ? Start slowly ... maybe an app can be helpful. Google meditation, there are many YouTube videos out there. There is mantra meditation, transcendental meditation ... maybe you just sit for 5 minutes and close your eyes and focus on your breathe to start. We live in a chaotic, busy, stressful world, with phones attached to our fingers. We need to calm our minds in order to find some peace. Being healthy minded is just as important as being physically healthy. R I T U A L We like to think that everyday we wake up with a choice between going through a day full of routine, or a day full of ritual. It’s a powerful idea- that we get to create our own sacred space within our own life. That we get to choose whether we feel disengaged or connected. For us, washing our face in the morning is the first step towards this idea of sacred. We slow down, take deep breaths, and send all the love we can to our skin and soul.
One of my favorite things to do, write down what I am grateful for, my dreams, goals, desires, and turn them into reality! As long as you work towards them and have the work ethic to make it happen, it will come to fruition. ☀️SPRING RITUAL 🍫🦋🍃🤸🏽♀️🧘🏻♀️ Spring is definitely in the air and what better way to start the week than some yoga practice followed by some edible love. . Because kapha is a predominant force in spring, enjoy an expansive and stimulating spring yoga practice that is faster paced, heating, and guided by precision and muscular effort to reap benefits! In the spring, the emphasis on cleansing the lungs and warming the kidneys increases. Keep the chest open and the heart space expanded and when you feel that you’ve been in a pose long enough to feel challenged, take one more deep, steady breath before releasing the posture. Asanas like sun salutation, warrior I, warrior II, reverse warrior, forward bends, chest openers, and backward bends as well as poses that stretch, compress, stimulate and cleanse really work wonders! Close your yoga practice with a shorter shavasana and consider placing a bolster under your chest for increased benefits. . . . Creating a stimulating and inspiring morning ritual for yourself will really promote clarity and improved energy in spring. I once heard a quote “if you don’t have 10 mins for yourself each day, you don’t have a life” . Most people in today’s world we live in are so stressed and they don’t even realize it. They’re rushing here, there and everywhere... always “busy”. That was me for so long too. . We rarely take time to do some #deepbreathing and #meditate . #meditation changed my life. . It’s helped me focus immensely and it’s also helped me be calmer. . I have way more patience and my mind is clearer with better ideas. . Anytime you find yourself feeling “tense” or “agitated” do this... . Science has proven that if you take 6 deep breaths, those feelings will subside and you’ll instantly feel better. . FREE | If someone was to ask me the secret to ageing I will say: AN OPEN MIND. Then I will add: And some of the best things to help you age naturally are FREE. Meditation being the top of my list. It’s become a regular non-negotiable like Tracy Anderson and yoga. Did you know that as you age, the hippocampus tends to shrink (that’s the part of the brain responsible for memory and executive functions) but regular meditation (30mins/day) can slow down or prevent that natural decline, allowing a 50 year old to have a brain the size of a 25 year old. YES please. Mediation also shrinks the amygdala part of the brain, responsible for fear, anger, anxiety and stress. I’LL TAKE A DOSE OF THAT, YES PLEASE. Meditation has also been scientifically proven to reduce cortisol levels in your blood (my favourite mission), reduce adrenaline (ugh) and reduce glucagon (which if high is like eating a block of chocolate!). Meditation also raises perspiration threshold so if us ladies want to avoid night sweats and hot flushes, then meditation is our pill. It can reduce hot flushes by 40%. YES PLEASE. Auto auto auto 😍 . . . . ♥️ ustvari je naše tjelo jedno predobro auto. I hrana ustvari doručak gorivo. Al ne treba auto samo goriva za pokret jel tako? Treba mu I ulje i svasta nešto to više Medin zna od mene, a pazite razliku. Kad u autu nesto sjaji, nesto nije ok, odma se ide na servis I daje pare da se to sto pre sredi. A kod nas, nemamo energije, pa krivo je vrjeme pa pms, pa ponedeljak haha sve je krivo sam hrana i način rada prema nama ne😂 a signali kao glavobolja, višak kg, sve su to signali bas isto kao svetlo u autu. Morate na servis 🏆💪 . . . . Moj čaj je svako jutro tu, I ne mogu funkcionirati bez njega. Energija koja ne diže za 2min,pa onda sam još u večem 💩 kao pre😅😅 nego fino traje I traje. My morning ritual ✍️ . “The morning pages” where I write all my thoughts down (mostly crap but not always) without any judgement. No right or wrong. No spelling check. No grammar check.... just write without lifting up the pen off the paper. If nothing comes to mind I just write “nothing in my mind right now” but that’s really rare. For me there’s always something that needs to come through... need to get out... need to be seen 👀 I’ve been doing it most mornings and sometimes during the day or night when I feel that I need to vent. Instead of venting out my random crap at people around me, I choose to do it this way. Also not always just negativity that comes through. There’s lovely thoughts and plenty of gratitude in my morning pages... everything is included 💕 . This is one of my self care practices. What’s yours?🤔 .
