❌I am not qualified. ❌ . When I first became a mom I was so terrified to leave my baby to go back to work. . I felt silly that as exhausted and in need of a break I was I still dreaded the thought of leaving my new baby. . With each kid it only got worse.😭 . I looked for ways to make money from home but I didn’t have a degree or any type of certification . . All I had was a GED, my military experience, and a big personality. . Fast forward to last week. . I was bringing in an income while sitting on the beach with my kids on a Saturday! 💛 . This is a gift y’all!🙏🏻 . AND IM JUST GETTING STARTED! 🔥 . Couple months ago I was introduced to business that not only was a smart investment, but also is changing the game for SO MANY “unqualified people” like me! . There is someone less qualified than you living the life you want, because they took a chance.🤙🏼 . Moms, dads, retired people, college students, people with successful businesses already and people with no experience at all! . If this single mama with no degree can be living this life, and not missing out on the precious moments with my kids, so can you.💚 . Message me for details or click the link in my bio for a FREE TOUR of what I do!💙✨ .
Last day of school! Celebrating our favorite way: with cookies, milk, laughter and a mandatory picture for mom ❤️ Do you have any last day of school traditions? My husband started this tradition with our kids and I love doing it every year.
“Why are you freaking out, Mommy?” 🤔 That was my 8:35am reality check dealt out by my toddler yesterday! Sure, we were late for daycare, Leo was crying, Isaac had been grumpy, and I hadn’t had my coffee yet, but why was I giving those circumstances power over my mood and my interactions with my kids? It wasn’t anything I hadn’t handled before. Nothing was seriously wrong. I was just getting caught up trying to control the chaos instead of finding a flow within it. • • Have you been there? Why are you freaking out lately, and can you step back from the problem and reframe it?
Let’s talk about being a first time mama🤱🏼✨ Being a mom is by far the hardest and most rewarding thing that I have ever done and I’m sure most of you mamas out there agree. It’s exhausting one second and energizing the next, it’s chaotic and then extremely tender, it’s tears and then pure joy. There are thousands of books out there (I have a few) however I haven’t read a single one😅. I honestly don’t have the time! So I’m basically winging it everyday and doing what I think is right for my baby. So far so good🤞🏼Remember mamas not all babies are the same. One tip/trick might work for one baby and not the same for the other so take a moment to just LISTEN and WATCH your babies cues and that will become a routine for you. I’m a stay at home mama that exclusively breastfeeds (that just works best for me and my baby) it does have its pros and cons but it’s the matter of having PATIENCE just as another working mom or pumping mom or formula giving mom. And just know you are doing the BEST you can. My only advise for my fellow mamas out there is to find the balance to just BE with your baby. And don’t forget to find a balance to make time to have “off days” I mean we’re allowed to! We mamas are doing the best we can! So take some time out for yourself whenever you can, YOU need that! Your baby needs you to be healthy and strong so you can do the best you possibly can for them! They will love you unconditionally regardless💕 #watchavamarinegrow#5monthsold#happybaby

Last night while the kids were at their afternoon programs and Shane was building his new bike 🚲 rather than relaxing, or shopping 🛍 I chose to walk our dog at the beach. Under cotton candy skies, surrounded by others also walking their dogs 🐶 or people happily chatting. I am so grateful for where we live, such beauty that surrounds us and is so easy to appreciate and enjoy. Just working on my consistency and healthy choices one day at a time and reaping rewards like this view. My body is sore from working out 💪🏽 again, Hallelujah, that must mean I’m doing something right, so an evening walk was great active recovery for me ♥️🏝 . . . #fitfam#makeeverydaycount#healthymoms#aslowmoment#dreamersanddoers#fitmom#fitnessblog#girlswhoblog#momswhoblog#livewithpurpose#cottoncandyskies#thatbeachlife

Were you good at math in school? This recent post from @npr got me thinking about my math experience in school and how I always viewed myself as someone who was terrible at math. I remember math classes, exams, quiz, etc. giving panic attacks, and I always expected the bad grades I got. I recently read: "An important study researchers found that when mothers told their daughters they were not good at math in school, their daughter's achievement declined almost immediately (Eccles & Jacobs, 1986). In a new study neuroscientists Erin Maloney and colleagues found that parents' math anxiety reduced their children's learning of math across grades 1 and 2, but only if parents helped their children on math homework (Maloney, Ramirez, Gunderson, Levine, & Beilock, 2015) If they did not help them on homework, the parents' math anxiety did not detract from their children's learning." I know this is true because when I help my daughter with her grade one math homework, I get jittery and anxious. All I keep thinking about is if she will be as bad in math as I was. Will she be able to manage her money in life? I have recently tried not to imprint my misplaced fears and misconceptions onto her because I do not want her to believe she is bad at something she very well could excel in. And let's be honest this perception of being good or bad in math goes beyond the classroom and the report cards. For me, it was always being self-conscious and not being able to do even simple mental math. It was discounting any career path that involved "too math classes"! This false belief plagued me for so long until I got to university and had to take calculus 101. Guess what? I was not bad at math; in fact, I A's that class and finally realized I just thought I was terrible at math the whole time. . . . . #muslimmom#muslimparents#muslimparenting#muslimblogger#muslimchildren#selfpublished#selfpublishedauthor#muslimbloggers#parentingmuslim#childreneducation
“A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend” I love this quote because not only is it true for me and my mum but it goes both ways too. Kody is definitely my best friend, there’s nobody that can cheer me up quite like he can, and the smile and hug he gives me when I get home from work really just melt my heart. So this evening I want to hear who else has a best friend in their child!! What’s your favourite part about the bond with your children???
I’ve been thinking about hopelessness a lot lately. I’ve been bumping into it for years now, but lately it’s been different. It seems that the way we think about and approach hopelessness is completely upside down and backward. . We treat it as if it is something to be gotten rid of as quickly as possible. We have become so adept at squashing the first traces/rumblings of hopelessness that we don’t even notice we’re doing it. I think it’s almost even reached the level of taboo to feel hopeless without trying to do something about it. . Good vibes and positive vibes only are popular statements and hashtags (usually paired with pics of super happy looking beautiful people in exotic locations) that get a ton of positive feedback and social reinforcement, but they’ve nagged at me for a long time. They are one side of a two sided coin and I’ve never been comfortable with only hearing one side of the story. . Have you ever thought about this…what if taking a hard stance of #goodvibesonly when something comes up that doesn’t feel good is actually a defense that keeps you from intimately interacting with what is really happening here and now in this moment? . Think about that. Seriously. I bring this up NOT to say there is anything wrong with approaching life from a positive vantage point. I’m talking about this because there’s more to the knee jerk “good vibes only” reaction than meets the eye and I believe we can only benefit, both individually and collectively, from persistently and unapologetically questioning our feelings, thoughts and beliefs. . If we really are these powerful beings, not defined by our bodies or our physical experiences then how could it possibly be detrimental to allow so called negative things into our experience. How could it be harmful to really examine what is happening presently instead of having the socially reinforced reaction of #goodvibesonly be the only acceptable place to go? . We still have a long way to go on our combatting picky eating/grilled cheese and rice diet journey but I will say that with exposure, Kobe has gotten better about trying new foods. When offering her either a new food or something she isn’t fond of, I always pair it with something I know she loves. Cucumber, bell pepper, blueberries, grapes, strawberries, cherry tomatoes and string cheese!
There is something about carrying around a toddler all day that is trying to squirm out of your grasp so that she may take all the swimsuits off the rack at target or run around screaming at the grocery store that my back just does not care for #truestory#momlife and my head doesn’t care for it either #somuchscreaming#poundinghead These tools are amazing when it comes to temporary aches, pains and discomfort. I will alternate deep blue or Aromatouch layered with frankincense (which helps enhance the other oil and drive it deeper into the muscle) on the part of the body that is sore and take one of the copaiba softgels and deep blue polyphenols- an amazing combo for pain. I do this as needed even if it is frequent on a bad day Who else loves these natural solutions in their home? Share with someone who needs this! . Ive got a great Memorial Day weekend special! Message me for details!
