Depicted is an Irish whiskey. Here are the legal requirements for something to be called “Irish Whiskey.” 1. Be made of a malted barley mash with the option of throwing in other cereal grains 2. Cannot be mashed, fermented, or distilled above 94.8% alcohol by volume 3. Must be aged in wooden casks 4. The casks cannot be over 700 liters 5. Must be aged three years in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland and no where else. 6. No additives except water and caramel coloring 7.
