Nice professional man who had information I could benefit from. But to be honest, there was a slight inclination on my part to say "NO" because it would be a waste of time. Throughout the coffee session, I felt resentful towards myself because I could've said "NO" and been productive in other areas. Self-awareness about how your energy is being depleted is important. Starting today, be a warrior who values your opinion the most. You are not in the business of making other people happy. Moreover, value your time and say "NO" in a respectful way. In my life, I find having a solid morning routine is important for productivity and achieving life goals. Before 7 am, I knocked out a workout and had an hour of study time for my book before work. Writing a book is a huge undertaking and requires a lot of research and discipline. One thing I observe as a common trait among successful people is the habit of routine and consistent productivity. While I look forward to my weekly study day, I quickly realized I needed to incorporate daily writing blocks if I am going to achieve my goal of completing my book by the end of summer. One of the things that helps me focus for long periods of time besides interest in my topic are diffusing essential oils. Depending on the blend, the scent as we know creates a response in the limbic system of the brain stiring emotions and memories. In antiquity, cultures realized that the essence of a plant could be extracted from the plant stem, bark, roots and pedals through a crude method called enfleurage. The essence was then mixed with olive oil and animal fat such as goose or goat where the essential oil was extracted and collected. Ancient cosmetics often used goat fat as a base, of which the Egyptians famously compounded their eyeliner and eyeshadows. Ointments and perfumes were also formulated to color hair and provide staining of the fingernails.
