Don't be a victim to your inbox!⠀ Mindful emailing means staying connected to yourself during the email process, as well as staying connected to the fact that you’re communicating with another human being. You don’t have to practice mindfulness every time you open an email. However, practising mindfulness during charged or potentially heated email exchanges can go a long way towards diffusing tensions and preserving relationships. When you notice strong emotions arising during an email exchange, try this process:⠀ ⠀ •	Take a few moments to just pay attention to your breath. This can help “break” you out of your negative state. ⠀ •	Visualize the sender/recipient. Become present to the fact that you’re in an exchange with another human. ⠀ •	Re-read the email. If you’re sending an email, remember that the receiver doesn’t have the same non-verbal cues as an in-person communication. Remember that they might not necessarily assume positive intentions, unless positive intentions are abundantly clear. Is there any way that your email could be misconstrued?⠀ •	If you’re receiving an email, likewise, pause and re-read the email. Notice any emotions or sensations that arise in your body, and simply let them pass without judgment. Realize that you also don’t have the benefit of nonverbal cues, and that you may be reading criticism or attack where there isn’t one. Re-read the email and see if the email could be read more objectively.⠀ •	Take 3 breaths before replying. During these three breaths, feel free to change your mind about sending, or to decide to edit your email before hitting send. #mindfulness #mindfulnessatwork #wellbeingatwork #mindfulwork #emailmanagement

These aspects of therapy become so much harder when one is unwilling to recognize 1. A need for such things to take place and 2. I'm offering Workplace Mindfulness classes! These sessions can be done in work attire, and are suitable for many fitness levels and ages. Postures, breath work and mindful meditation can be accomplished in chairs and are accessible to the company onsite.  This is a great opportunity for employees to revitalize their mental and physical well-being during the workday.  Mindful practices can benefit employees and the overall company. Today I've chosen an uplifting/ inspiring/grounding blend of oils to diffuse whilst I work. In fact, I chose three blends to blend together - Balance, Passion and Citrus Bliss.  I'm working on a new corporate programme and so I wanted something that would keep me focused on the job at hand (I have the propensity to get distracted by emails and social media messages...). Balance was my oil of choice for this as it helps to keep us grounded and focused.  I also wanted something that would help to draw on my innate and natural inspiration. The inspiration that we all have within us, if we allow it to surface. So I chose Passion which is a wonderful blend of Cinnamon, Clove, Jasmine, Ginger and Sandalwood, to name a few of the oils in it.  And then I wanted to choose something to keep me sharp and invigorated - enter Citrus Bliss! A beautiful blend of citrus oils along with vanilla bean.  I'm now pretty distracted by the wonderful aroma 😁 but I'm ready to get stuck into the first module of the new wellbeing programme.... best crack on or Margo George will be on my case 😃

Last week I had Ezra Pound's 'And the days are not full enough'. I was definitely in a sluggish mood anyway, and this poem fit my mood perfectly. . . This week I have an extract from Rita Ann Higgins 'The Did-You-Come-Yets of the Western World', a gently cynical yet romantic poem about the search for love, and a theme of all the fish in the sea. I may not be going out trawling this week but I like the quiet hopeful tone of this poem . . . Honest sketches. . Showing sketches can be such a vulnable thing, mainly cause it reveals the process, your honest intutions and what comes to you and not so much about the final result. .  Through the years I’ve learned myself to take the critical-judgement-hat off before I sit down. I then promise to express everything that comes to me, and just let my intutions interact with the pens, colors and media. .  It’s really good approach for me cause it becomes very meditative and relaxing mainly cause I stop thinking about the outcome and just let my hands go with the flow. It becomes a joy letting whatever happens happen. And then, when you decide to stop up, turn your brain on again and start looking at it with the conceptual-thinking-hat it becomes clear that there is something meaningful in the small doodles. .  Anyway, this is a little peak into my true, naked, honest process of sketching out material interpretations of the materials I’ll be working with for the months to come. But more about that another day. For now, happy sketching out there! .

So, I finally made it into town to buy myself a lovely new #leuchtturm1917 for 2019 😊 I had planned to do it before January, but it was cold and damp, and I had many other projects I could do at home. Some projects were waiting on getting the BuJo going though 😉 . I already knew what this years motto would be, a phrase I came across last year (from Mark Manson, author of The subtle art of not giving a F*$k) . I got a fancy new brush pen and jumped straight in on my title page! I am not an artist, I don't even care that it looks rough, it's something I actually did rather than just thinking about it. . "Passion is the result of action, not the cause of it" . I don't like to think of myself as a perfectionist, but I do want to do things right. I'm prone to dithering, internally debating something until the opportunity has passed. Fear of missing out if I choose one thing over another leading to indecision. I say these things, not to berate myself or put myself down, but to acknowledge that this is absolutely a natural tendency for me (and a potential career blocker!) . However, understanding that procrastination is one of my character stories helps me face it and do something positive about it. This self awareness helps me make up my mind, fire up my self regulation and just bloody do it, start the BuJo, take action! This is a small example of where taking a mindful approach to understanding yourself can help in your career development. . Hoy, tomate un tiempo para analizar el 2018 y ver todo lo que te aportó, sabiendo soltar lo que no te sirve para avanzar...Momento de inflexión sacando todo lo positivo, aceptando cualquier critica constructiva y la etapa en la cual te encuentras.  A mi me sirve imaginar que soy un "drone" encima de mi cuerpo y con tranquilidad repaso cada partícula mía...observo sin más, sin juzgar ni frustrar.  Últimamente, trabajo para entender y apartar ciertos patrones tal como la Culpa ....En muchas situaciones, te impones este castigo de "soy responsable de esta acción o resultado", como si fuese un alivio. En vez de aceptar lo ocurrido y seguir adelante, que "la vie est belle"; y no tienes tiempo de desperdiciarla con sentimientos nocivos. Culparte de una situación no la cambiará; así que puedes reflexionar del "para que" necesitas sentirte culpable y avanzar con esa respuesta para deshacerte de este Patrón. Recuerda, eres Único y Maravilloso; y estás acá para ser Feliz. . Christmas Incubation. .  I bet we all know that feeling where we try and try to come up with the answer to our inquiry, and just nothing right comes up - only untill we let go, start thinking of something else and free the thoughts to flow between your consious and unconsious mind? .  It’s so ambigious, cause what we want to do the least shows to be the only way forward. Arh! So frustrating. .  But’ve really learned from experience, that excactly when I start pushing for the solution, it’s best to stop, distract my mind, do something else. Cause I just know that otherwise I’ll be forcing it, and that wont end up being right. Neither the process experience nor the result. .  So I thought, what is a better timing to have a bit of incubation time than over christmas? .  It doesn’t mean that I haven’t been doing any work, but I’ve had the space and time to work when something came to me. Some days for an hour, sometimes for three, and others only for 10 min. .  My daily practise is very much so based around a mindful and intuitive work approach, but I could definately do with some more incubation time where I take myself out of the studio, and do something different not related to my work at all. Just to let my unconsious mind wander. I’m pretty sure that could take me some unusual places that I’d never thought of. Consiously. .  Btw., does this actually sound like a New Year resolution? I think it does! Hah. Have you guys made any resolutions for your 2019 design practise? . Завершается последний рабочий день в 2018, потянуло на небольшие рабочие  итоги.  Год получился интересным, много практики переговорной, байерской, появились продажные истории - специфически азартная деятельность, не ожидала что проникнусь. Достижение оцифрованных результатов - небанальный энергетический приход даёт😁🤩 Повысила продуктивность и уменьшила стресс, как и планировала.  Внезапно поняла, что хочу привнести осознанность в профессиональную часть своей жизни - иначе оно как-то несётся бурно, но не совсем понятно куда)))) Ежедневную осознанность, чтобы больше смысла ощущать от деятельности лично для себя. Building a habit of noticing more can bring a sense of balance to the day. It’s impossible to rush through your to-do list AND to notice more. Noticing is a ‘slow thinking’ state.
