A little before bed preparation before Small Group tomorrow. . I flagged all the verses we would be covering tomorrow. To get to them quickly, so we have more time to discuss the session. . . . I am a planner by nature, I need structure, I need to know that there is a plan. With that being said.... nothing has to go according to plan, but the plan needs to be in place. I need to be prepared for what is suppose to happen. Otherwise it makes me anxious. . . . . With anything in your life, you have to build a strong foundation in order to succeed. Your mind has to be right, in order to have your heart in the right place. Or Vice a versa . . . . When you live in an anxious state, and continue to live that way, you allow Satan to control your actions and your tongue. shifting blame for the things you imagine that are happening to you or around you. . . You are no longer remembering that the Lord is here, always.. You are no longer Remembering the Lord is in control, always. . . The word anxiety actually comes from a Latin root that means to choke or to squeeze. It’s strong grip interrupt your sleep chokes your energy and harms your overall well-being. . GAIA // Although technically yesterday was Earth day, I‘m feeling like showing some everyday appreciation for this mama who provides roots to ground us, wisdom to guide us, and love to support us. . Thank you for being the universal playground for us humans, even though we can do better to take care of you. . In scrolling through these images, I’m reminded that a photo doesn’t show the whole story. . What you can’t see is the trash littering the beach just 2 feet away. You can’t breathe the pollution coating the air. You can’t feel the disrespect toward the grounds that have given us life. . I’m beyond grateful for the opportunities to explore the different facets of her beauty and all of the gifts that she provides. . And I know we can do a better job of reciprocating the love back to our Earth. So let’s do that
🚘 Car spray 🚘 Air fresheners in general are so bad for us to be breathing in, even worse when your confined in a small space. Do some reading over on the poison control website it will probably make your ditch those little trees 🌲 hanging from your mirror. It’s also so easy and simple to make your own linen spray, room spray and car spray. I love it because it’s safe and I also get to choose the scent I’m feeling at the moment. This is my current car spray 💦.
✨WAVES✨ • Per my usual pattern, I’ve been MIA the last little bit as I’ve been away enjoying the Mexican sun down in Cabo at the beautiful @acrebaja compound with @aquaemudra for an incredible retreat! • I really allowed myself to sink in to the experience and sink out of reality... which in turn meant social media and communication suffered a bit. I beat myself up for approximately 15 minutes. While I do appreciate and understand that consistency is important, and next time I will do a better job of pre-planning some posts and content.... I absolutely will not attempt to stay consistent with any 1 thing for too long! Seems counter-intuitive, right? • Well, I feel as though variety is the spice of life. And sometimes we get so caught up in maintaining consistency that we miss a little bit of magic in the process. If we don’t leave room for error then how do we learn and grow? Sometimes things are full on and all about work, and other times they are about letting go of all expectations of ourselves. • All of this got me thinking about the waves of life we’re constantly in. Trying to maintain perfection and consistency ALL THE TIME can be exhausting (like riding the wave), and sometimes we need a break to just exist (let the waves crash). These breaks can be really eye opening, give us an opportunity to step back and see what we like/don’t like about our routine. Sometimes, we keep ourselves stuck because we expect things to be how they always are. Just because you hate your job, doesn't mean you have to do it forever. Maybe you like your job, but you're overworked. Maybe there are other opportunities you aren't seeing. You can get creative and think outside of the box. Just because you are a teenager and you hate yourself, doesn't mean that you are ugly, useless, or stupid. Maybe the people and influences you surround yourself with are the perfect formula for self-loathing. You can occupy new spaces and learn to love yourself. It'll get better with age, too, inshaAllah. Being a teenager is tough. Just because you and your spouse treat each other poorly, doesn't mean that it always has to be that way. Maybe you never had a good example of a healthy relationship. You can learn what a healthy relationship looks like. Just because you have always struggled with math or science doesn't mean you can never learn it. Maybe you didn't have a good teacher. Maybe you need more one on one support than the traditional classroom provides. You can learn to understand it in a way that makes sense to you. Just because you can't figure out what you want to do for a living doesn't mean you're a failure. Maybe you're multi-passionate. Maybe there is so much brilliance in you, that you are overwhelmed with all of your potential. Maybe that "What do you want to be when you grow up" question we ask children, is more harmful than helpful. You can incorporate all the different shades of yourself in your profession. You don't need to fit in a perfect box. Just because you've never been athletic doesn't mean you can't get in shape. Maybe you haven't found what you're good at. Maybe you were competing on an unfair playing ground. You can find a form of movement that feels intuitive to you. Just because you're quiet doesn't
