🔴Meal Timing🔴 Does it matter? Should you eat soon before going to bed? 😏 answer below... Short answer - For fat loss, no. For muscle gain, yes. Long answer - Meal timing for fat loss has been shown to matter very, very little. Total caloric restriction (no matter the diet) ranks highest in importance. Recent studies have shown this time and time again. The timing of your meals can help with adhering to a diet by feeling more satiated therefore decreasing the chance of you binging but very little benefit after that to timing you meals for fat loss. I like to advise people to 'carb backload' (having most of your carbs towards the end of the day to increase melatonin and serotonin release which will improve the quality of your sleep - big win. Meal timing for muscle gain does matter. Hitting your total required caloric and protein target for the day and more importantly for the week is integral but a more frequent intake of sufficient protein has shown greater spikes in muscle protein synthesis on a more regular basis which yeilds better recovery, performance and growth benefits. So don't go lengthy periods without eating if your goal is to pack on some muscle.
But just like physical health, it’s something we can take for granted until we become ill. ⠀⠀ When you are healthy, what do you do to stay healthy? ⠀⠀ When you’ve been mentally ill, you tend to be more aware of what you need to do to maintain your mental health...knowing what things take a toll on you and drain you and what re-energises you is the first step. ⠀⠀ It’s important to develop an awareness of your mental and emotional responses and take action accordingly - just like you’d take paracetamol for a headache. ⠀⠀
When on a discovery call with potential clients, do you ask: "What brought you to this call today?" ˙ They may say they're thinking about doing a cleanse or they're getting ready for their wedding. There will be something they’re not happy with or something they want to achieve. ˙ Your follow up question should be, "How do you want to feel?" ˙ Create a space where they feel safe to share how they’re currently feeling and how it’s not the way they’d like to feel.
