Can I keep true to my #2019 goal this and keep things tight while continuing to put on lean quality tissue? × I am trying , but it’s been a struggle - I can’t lie. × Anyone down to ship me some C🍪🍪Kies? I am working hard and concentrating specififcally on building lean quality muscle tissue this year without the added fluff and bullshit I usually seem to always put on along the way. × THIS is why I have decided to run head into this Improvement Season with PLAN and not an IDEA. × PLAN: FOLLOW EVERYTHING @derock tells me! YES, even a coach has a coach. And who better than my boy who knows me so well. × With a second set of eyes and a plan from someone other than myself, tends to tremendously help me stay strict and on track. × When I do my own diet, I am either way more lenient OR way harder on myself with NO in-between. So having a coach even in the Improvement Season allows me to stay in my lane and trust the process, which has been the best thing I have ever done post show. Finally, the one thing I don’t have to think about in my life. Lol × IDEA: Just rolling through the Improvement Season with the mindset that you don’t need a plan, you just need to eat! Yeah, Good luck with this strategy. Let me know how that works out fro ya. This is just a perfect cocktail for disaster if you ask me. CORKSCREW PRESS.  Why does everyone do the same three shoulder exercises? All I see are military presses, seated overhead dumbbell presses, and lateral raises.  How about we do more than these three boring exercises? How about we move in the transverse plane every now and then by throwing in a rotation?  The corkscrew press is one solution. The first time you try it, you feel SUPER unstable as you rotate and press at the same time, which of course means it's awesome for building stability and coordination.  And, as it's a unilateral (one arm at a time) exercise, it highlights any weaknesses and/or imbalances you might have. For example, I've discovered my left shoulder is WAY weaker than my right when it comes to overhead pressing, which I'm trying to fix.  Full credit to @ironkimono for this movement. I learnt it on his Kettlebell Athletics Level 2 course last year.

These #workouts are designed in honour of how these men liked to train, McDonald enjoyed the heavy lifts such as #frontsquats , and was known to swing up a #kettlebell . Strength was his game. Therefore, the front squat and #kettlebellswings are for him. PTE Galagher was a man who loved his #metabolicconditioning workouts. He was fast, strong, and quick to find a pull up bar for his fitness programming. HUNGER, ENERGY & CRAVINGS ⠀ ⠀ What you eat at one meal affects your choice of foods at your next meal & directly correlates to your hunger, energy & cravings for the rest of the day. ⠀ ⠀ For SUSTAINED fat loss, 2 things are required: caloric deficit AND a balanced metabolism.⠀ ⠀ A simple way to help determine if your metabolism is balanced is by measuring your level of hunger, energy & cravings (HEC). Are your hunger and cravings are well controlled and your energy levels good? In other words is your HEC in check?⠀ ⠀ If your HEC is in check and you’re seeing your desired results, then you have found your individual magic formula. Our metabolisms are all different so what works for some may not work for you. Therefore, become your own metabolic detective.⠀ ⠀ As yourself, “if I were scrambled eggs with avocado and bacon for breakfast, would I be more or less likely to eat lots of veggies and protein at lunch?” For some, this type of breakfast is satiating, suppresses cravings, gives them energy and sets them up for healthy eating the remainder of the day. For others, this type of breakfast could trigger more hunger and cravings and have them more likely to binge on donuts and pastries. Some may do better with a bowl of oatmeal and a protein shake. Some may find if they eat eggs and a donut in the morning, then they don’t feel the need to indulge in extra starch and sugar later in the day. Some may do great with just eggs alone. There is no right or wrong across the board - it’s whatever works for YOU⠀ ⠀ We are all so different - find what works for you and stick with that!⠀ ⠀
I don’t like to give fitness advice specifically for women...but here are some things to take into consideration when you’re trying to make a fitness transformation with two X chromosomes: . 🍑Women (obviously) have less testosterone. This makes it harder to build muscle. Extrapolate that further, and it’s harder for women to stay lean since muscle is the most effective fat burner. . 🔥Women are the BIGGEST target. Through the media. Marketing. And scare tactics. Their gender will be the scapegoat for their lack of progress. This makes it almost impossible to make proper educated choices regarding their fitness. No wonder donkey kicks and cleanses are so popular😔 . 💪🏻Women have impressive societal expectations they feel the need to uphold. I am still told not to get “too bulky.” Some guys still treat me like shit in the gym when I use “their” equipment. Many women I talk to are afraid to go to the gym. This is NOT okay on many levels—and the way to fix it is to just stand up and do it anyway. . Basically, women have a lot of things working against them (many of which I did not list here). Women also desperately want to be X size or have Z body type. So what can we do? . Train with the same rules as a guy. Don’t fall for the pretty pink weights, don’t pay attention to the bright magazine headlines about losing 10lbs in 2 days, and don’t listen to any chauvinistic pigs who tell you what to do with your body or how to look. . That’s just it. Do it for you. . I have tagged strong women who don’t care about social norms—TAG THE STRONG WOMEN IN YOUR LIFE🔥🔥🔥
Please STOP getting nutritional advice from these sources. 🤦‍♂️ Nutrition is (should be) simple:  1.) Protein 🥩🍖🍗🍳 2.) Produce 🥦🍅🥒🥕🍄🥔🍠 3.) Healthy Fats 🥑🥥 4.) Water🥤💦 EVERYONE knows WHAT to eat! ✔💯 #eatlikeanadult 👈  Even an 8-year-old knows an apple 🍎 is healthier than a candy bar 🍫. The BEST advice I'd give anybody is: just DON’T believe the word 'NO.' Be persistent. Persevere. Keep going. NEVER, ever, ever give up. . . Perform 10 Deadlifts and 1 burpee then rest for 30 sec. Then do 9 Deadlifts and 2 burpees resting for 30 sec. . . . FUNCTIONAL FITNESS TRANSFORMATION.  I was a mess 10 years ago. I smoked 40 cigarettes a day, ate only junk and fast food, and didn't work out.  Quitting smoking, eating unprocessed food, and functional fitness have brought me a long way.  Before (early twenties). ❌Too much weight around the middle. ❌Poor posture. ❌No muscle tone. ❌No fashion sense (wtf is that hat?!). ❌Neckbeard.  After (early thirties). ✅A lot leaner. ✅Better posture. ✅More muscle mass. ✅Better dressed (still working on it). ✅Married 🙂
