Highlights from our last day at the Oxford Museum of Natural History: 1. Wallace's giant bee (#Megachile pluto), the world's largest #bee. 2. One of the few remaining bits of #dodo skin left on the planet. 3. Bone from a Dodo's leg 4-6. Walking through the actual space where the Great Debate (on evolution, between Wilberforce and Huxley) took place. 7. Human lice collected by Darwin from a tribe of people that have since gone extinct. A lab is now trying to sequence the blood from inside the lice using ancientDNA methods :O 8. Type specimens of Clerid beetles from Singapore that I worked on for my undergrad UROPs project. 9-10. A collection of specimens Darwin collected on his voyage of the Beagle.
