Looking forward to the first screening tonight of a small film @nick_overall and I have produced on Queanbeyan's historic Royal Hotel for the launch of its new renovations. This brilliant model of the original building was created by @suitcasedollhouse as part of our #180mementos Exhibition.
No, we’re not bad people. And I’m not better than you because I’m Vegan. There’s an obvious disconnect between what we’re told to do and our morals. Society has normalized the exploitation of animals in the food, entertainment, and even clothing industries, to name a few. From birth we were raised by our parents to eat animals, our schools promoted the consumption of milk, and those commercials in-between shows never told us otherwise. Our society has been so persistently conditioning us that we never got the chance to question who we were eating. This is why people sound illogical and irrational when they argue against Veganism because there is no justification for it! Here are 8 Common ‘Excuses’ For Not Being Vegan ⬇ (https://theminimalistvegan.com/excuses/). People would never use these reasons to justify anything else that’s immoral. Logical, rational people would never use the pleasure they get from the taste of bacon, as a justification for needlessly slaughtering an innocent animal. I’m not saying you’re not logical or rational if you’re not a Vegan though. I’m pointing out how conditioning works, and it works pretty damn well. You’re not a bad person for consuming animals. You are, however, most likely not consciously participating in something that you are against morally. At this point, you might be saying, “Well, it’s not happening because of me.” I used to think that too. This is why going Vegan is so empowering; it actually makes a difference. The only reason animals are being bred into existence for the sole purpose of getting slaughtered is because we pay for that to happen. WE VOTE FOR IT WITH OUR WALLETS. Every time you remove a product from the shelf at a grocery store, you are demanding the supply of that product so that another one can replace the empty slot you created. Like I mentioned earlier, most people would never hurt animals and even despise animal cruelty. Most people would also never pay for animals to get killed just so they could enjoy the taste of a certain food. What’s going on? Are we all bad people?
