Happy Wednesday! Well hello hello, long time no see ✨ I took a much needed social media break over the last few weeks. My emotions were all over the place after getting my job and I wasn’t in the right headspace to participate 🙈 Now that I’m back, I want to hear allllll about your month so far, how have you been? • • QOTD: What are you currently reading? Describe it in a sentence ♥️ • QOTD: What’s your favorite spine color that you don’t see often? • • QOTD: Okay, so I’m reading multiple books right now, classic, and I’ll describe them thusly ✨ Red White and Royal Blue - hilarious, charming and so well-drawn that it warms my cold cold heart! You Must Not Miss - Dark, surreal, hard hitting, it’s a smaller title that you shouldn’t miss (ha ha, so funny) Seriously though, I’ve been having such a good streak with my reads this month ♥️ Also, I think yellow spines are underrated and I’d love to see more of them! • • So I’ve finally started to burn my Sansa candle from @wickwishcandleco and it’s probably hands down my all time favorite candle ✨ Befitting that Sansa has such an amazing candle, just saying 👀 Rachel announced today that Sansa will be available in June as well as the rest of the Women of Westeros collection! Go grab ‘em up ✨ • • Challenges: #bookqueensmay19 #bookqueensreads Priory of the Orange Tree #mayinbooks19 create an ombré book stack #maybookstagram19 made you cry • • #theprioryoftheorangetree #samanthashannon #ireadfantasy #carryon #rainbowrowell #idratherbereading #bookaesthetic #booksandbeans #bookstagramit

31st May- wrap up We are wrapping May up (rather late I know) it’s been a good month, not for getting through my TBR pile unfortunately though. I’ve had to study to wrap up my second year of uni. I’ve noticed however, my bookish ways have completely rubbed off on my eldest daughter, who has created a TBR pile for June next to MY bed. 29th May- Wick Wednesday One of our favourite activities is to snuggle up on the sofa with tea and read books. We often do it with a candle burning, particularly if it’s been one-of-those-days! My favourite scent at the moment is rose and I’ve managed to find candles, deodorant and soap with that scent recently!! The book in the picture is one of our favourites. Who doesn’t love Mog? This is a very old copy but you can buy a lovely new version from us @nickelbooks and you can get it delivered anywhere in the U.K. for FREE with #sendmybook 📖🕯 ~ Kate. #queenofmay19 #mog #judithkerr #wickwednesday #itslate #bookishchallenge #maybookstagram19 #bookstagramchallenge #photochallenge #monthlychallenge #bookchallenge #bookstagram #booklove  #maychallenge #lovereadinglovebooks #sendmybook #loveyourlocalbookshop #booksaremybag #nickelbooks #bookshopheroes @queen_of_books_and_sleep @booksaremybag @meryl.halls @book_tokens
It's a week late but I wanted to post my books for May! Super proud of myself that I've read a good handful of books for 2019 by habit bundling! Y'all got any recommendations for June?! #bookgoals #bookchallenge #maybookstagram19
Growing up, I went through SO MANY book phases. There were countless series I was obsessed with that got me into reading. A few of my favorites were Magic Tree House, 39 Clues, and Percy Jackson. Did you read as a kid? What were your childhood favorites? 🌟 (I never read the Little Prince but it looks really cute and I’m curious about it!) 🌟 ———————————————————————- #bookstagram #thelittleprince #shelfie #ya #bookish #bookshelf #maybookstagram19 #maytbr #maywrapup #mayreadingwrapup #read #reader #books #tbr #bookworm #bookstagrammer #thelittleprince #beachreads

May Reading Wrap-up! ✨ Coming-of-age stories dominated my May reading list, the highlights of which were Lights All Night Long by Lydia Fitzpatrick, Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld, and Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss. Two books in this mix, Lights All Night Long and Oksana, Behave!, featured Eastern European kids (Russian and Ukrainian, respectively) moving to the U.S. in their formative years and the culture shock that ensues. Other People's Love Affairs, a collection of loosely interconnected short stories centered around the small English seaside town of Glass, are lovely and tug on the heartstrings. I liked but didn't love Queenie and The Water Cure... ✨ Have you read any of these? ✨ Books Read in May: 7 Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lights All Night Long by Lydia Fitzpatrick ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ The Water Cure by Sophie Mackintosh ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Other People's Love Affairs by D. Wystan Owen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Oksana, Behave! by Maria Kuznetsova ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

"Berubahlah untuk dirimu sendiri, bukan untuk orang lain" hlm 37⁣ ⁣ Kembali lagi di #maccamereview bersama buku Imperfect⁣ ⁣ Judul : Imperfect⁣ Penulis : Meira Anastasia⁣ Penerbit : Gramedia Pustaka Utama⁣ Terbitan : 2018⁣ ⁣ Apakah kalian pernah mendapat perkataan seperti 'kamu gendutan yah? Kok kurusan?

**MAY WRAP-UP** I’m happy with my May reads! My monthly goals have been to read at least one of the following: a book set in the Mediterranean (upcoming travel), a cookbook, a CLo book, and whatever my bookclubs or buddy reads might bring me! Here’s how it played out: . . 📚The Silent Patient (IRL book club. . . 📚Love & Other Words (CLo). . . 📚The Mother-in-Law (buddy read) . . 📚This is How it Always Is(buddy read) . . 📚 My Favourite Half Night Stand (CLo) . . 👩‍🍳Eating Well: Quick & Clean (cookbook) . . 🎧 Beautiful Ruins (Mediterranean) . . I’m hesitant to rate my books these days. I’ll post about that soon. May totally rocked! . . #careylovestobook #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookworm #bookworm #maybookstagram19
Something new and something old for #mayroundup My very loved copy of Chasing Harry Winston is the oldest book in my collection. #maybookstagram19 #chasingharrywinston #myoxfordyear
And May is a wrap!! The month started out slow, but I blame it on the fully absorptive nature of The Huntress. Solid reads throughout the month, with so many exciting points: - Started 2 new series... Red Rising (darn you, @jenabrownwrites 😉♥️), and Maisie Dobbs, with audiobooks and narrators that have sucked me in (love a good cozy mystery, and a strong narrators); - book club choice of Christopher Moore’s Noir was stellar... thanks @lorikemp78 😘 - read my first, and not last, KA Tucker, thanks to @thebookclubmom adding it to my TBR - another #booktwinbuddyread with the sweet @boberbookclub knocked Room off my shelves, and met the May prompts for both #theunreadshelfproject2019 and #truenorthreadschallenge2019 🇨🇦🇨🇦 📚📚📚📚 Overall, a great month! Thoughts on any of these? June is looking like another great month. What are you looking forward to this month? 📚📚📚📚 #bookstagram #booksofinstagram #bookstagrammer #lovebooks #bibliophile #ilovereading #maybookstagram19 #buddyread #bookclub #unreadshelf #librarybooks #audiobook #hoopladigital #magsisreadingagain #mags2019tbr
MAY BOOKS: . But first, a disclaimer. May was a busy month. Not only did I binge watch the entire Game of Thrones series (that's series, not season, people), I also put on a spring concert and had a delightful week long visit from my sister. So reading was not a priority, as you can probably tell by the amount and types of books I did read this month. Also, they were all kindle books. So you get a screenshot of my goodreads list. Which reminds me. If you've got the goodreads app, you should friend me on there! And if you don't have it, why on earth not? Ok, getting to the books now. . Pretty Face (Lucy Parker) 4/5 stars I like "fluffy fiction" just as much as the next girl, but I'm really picky about my authors. Most who write in the "sappy stories" genre are rather terrible writers, and with as much reading as I do I know what good writing looks like, and I just can't stomach entire books of bad writing. Which, fortunately, is where Lucy Parker stands out from most "fluffy fiction" writers. "Pretty Face" is next in the series after last month's "Act Like It." This whole series is set in the theater world of London (thus the "London Celebrities Collection"), and the storyline(s) have to do with growing romances between actors, actresses, directors, etc. There's not much to explain without giving everything away - it's a typical romantic book. Easy read, predictable storyline, happy ending. What more could you ask for? And while there's nothing unusual about the storylines, all these books are very well written, which is the main reason I find myself giving Lucy Parker's books 4 stars (instead of the average 2 this genre would earn in my mind). If you're looking for some well written "fluffy fiction" for over the summer, you can't go wrong with this series! . (Continued in the comments) . #books #bookworm #goodreads #maybookstagram19

May Books! I really do have to recommend “A Clockwork Orange.” If you’ve seen the film it’s pretty much all there, but the book is a special treat. Once you train your gulliver to govereet #nadsat, you’ll appreciate why this novel has had such a lasting cultural impact. For this one, I suggest using my personal method of kindle/audible and bounce between the two. Take it from your humble narrator, the #audible is real horrorshow! #bookstagram #readersofinstagram #writersofinstagram #read #books #maybookstagram19 #maybooks #springbooks #evoke #watchers #aclockworkorange #devilinabluedress #carrie #cujo #aranabooks🕷
May was a bit of a slow reading month, and I'm 4 books behind schedule (for my 100 reads this year). However, it was a good month in that none of these were bad reads. The Longest Kill was a detour from my usual genre, but I found it really fascinating and genuine. The Sunday Lunch Club was probably my least favourite of the bunch. A little too safe and predictable and in dire need of a strong edit. I've Got Your Number was a fun, cute read and reminded me why I've always loved Sophie Kinsella's work. Something in the water had so much potential, but just misfired slightly for me. It wasn't bad, and was an absorbing read in many ways, but it peaked in the first chapter. The Elephant Keeper's Daughter is a bit of a confusing one. At times expertly written, at others it felt like a 13 year old had hold of the reigns. It could just be in the translation, of course. A really interesting concept thay I think should have been explored me to make it grittier, but not bad at all. Looking forward to seeing what books June brings my way. #read #reading #readersofinstagram #readallthebooks #readingislife #bibliophile #fortheloveofbooks #recentreads #maybookstagram19 #bookaddict #bookstagram #booklover

May Wrap Up! I read 10 books this month and almost finished the audiobook I started in April (I told you I’m slow! 🙈) not pictured here is the Flat Share and Emergency Contact (which is currently in Portugal with my housemate haha). * I had a few great reads this month and a few disappointing ones, but I discovered a new author in Lois McMaster Bujold and a new love of sci fi books which previously I had almost no interest in. So all in all, a good reading month! * * - The Flat Share - 5⭐️ - The Darkest Part of the Forest- 5⭐️ - Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating-5⭐️ - The Vor Game (Young Miles)- 5⭐️ - Emergency Contact - 4⭐️ - The Binding - 4⭐️ - Field Notes on Love - 3⭐️ - The Near Witch - 3⭐️ - Aurora Rising - 2⭐️ - A Curse Dark as Gold - 2⭐️ * * Thanks to @foreverreadingfiction for the flat lay inspo/design I outright copied 🙈😂 * * #aussiebookstagrammer #aussiebookstagram #aussiebookworm #bookstagram #bookworm #flatlay #bookflatlay #monthlywrapup #maywrapup #allthebooksmay19 #bookqueensmay19 #bookravensmay19 #mmsbookishmay19 #mayinbooks19 #maybookstagram19 #amreading #reading #read #starrating

QotD: What was your favorite read from May? . Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA lately, but I started a new job and I'm still adjusting my time to do things.
