Thank you all so much for the kind words and support. I've felt a lot of love! It's still amazing to me that I'm an artist, that I can make things other people find beautiful. It feels really good to have this in my life 💗 I have so much more I want to create and do so thanks for rollin' along side me during this journey (of Maker & Motherhood). Also, I couldn't have asked for a better booth partner with Kaelynn @winstonandwindsor. I'm a lucky gal. G'night ladies 💗 Day 2 tomorrow!

White ink on cardboard 🤓 . I am falling deeper and deeper in love with the contrast in this print 😍😍😍 crisp lines from the paper cuttings and the smudged textures from the cling wrap!! #cantstopwontstop
What a day!! I can’t get over how fun this is! So many sweet people making me feel all sorts of proud 🥰✨🌿🧡 And why is it so hard to accept help sometimes? My friend, Gena offered to help me set up, she refused to let me say no, and guess what?! I needed her help so bad, she was absolutely necessary and made such a better work flow for me and the day. Then, she showed back up for clean up. 🥰 Thank you Gena! 🧡
In case you missed my post earlier and/or just wanted a closer look at Jonah’s perfectly tousled morning hair, here’s another shot from my fun afternoon crafting with my boys. They had so much fun making their own clay ornaments, and they can’t wait until the final coat of sealer dries tonight so they can hang them on the tree in the morning. Hope you’re all having a great weekend! . . . . . . #holidayvibes#holidaycrafts#kidcrafts#boymom#momlife#maker#makersgonnamake#makerspace#makermom
Big THANK YOU to everyone who came out and said hi this weekend. Except @tsherlock he didn’t come. But seriously, it’s such an amazing feeling to FEEL the support from our friends, family, and even some people who follow me here on Instagram. Until next time @queenbeemarket
I guess it’s time to do a Meet the Maker! Here goes! My name is Alanna, and I’m a veterinary assistant by day, crafter by night. Obviously, my love for animals played a huge role in creating my logo! I have been knitting for about 3 years and just started to dabble in crochet this past year. I started dyeing for fun about a year ago, and fell in love instantly. It is so much fun creating colourways! I’m really lucky to have my hubby help me with all the other stuff that comes with having a “business”. He helps with everything from the website, to shipping orders.. he even learnt all about yarn for me! 🥰 #meetthemaker#maker#makersgonnamake#makerspace#handdyedyarn#indiedyer#knitting#crochet
I know it's not really cosplay, but I needed a break from finals so I gave gunpla a try. Ngl, I might be hooked-even though I don't really own the tools I'm supposed to need I had so much fun that I can't wait to do the next one! I'm sure to a trained eye it's not much but I love it #makerspace#gunpla#cosplay
Meet Duke - Resident Good Boy MO2H: What creative outlet do you have outside of work? Duke: My creativeness is expressed in my vigilance and sense of duty for my home and new space security. So far my barking has saved everyone from murder by 14 UPS drivers, 9 mailmen, 5 solicitors, 3 squirrels, and 1 very sketchy plastic bag. MO2H: How did you get started with woodworking? Duke: As long as I can remember I have had a love for orally carving wood. I may have been born with this trait. MO2H: What is your favorite project you've made? Duke: I once tried to enhance one of my mom’s books by chewing off the spine and mangling some of the pages. I know it is not wood, but paper is close – right?
Meet Chris - Mentor MO2H: What creative outlet do you have outside of work? Chris: My creativity generally revolves around working with my hands. I enjoy drawing and designing furniture. I also enjoy working on older properties in a variety of trades and all the problem solving that that requires. MO2H: How did you get started with woodworking? Chris: Growing up in an Edwardian period house there was always lots of maintenance and repairs that come with a house of that age, so my first experience with woodworking was repairing and rehanging several of the original sash windows in that house. MO2H: What is your favorite project you've made? Chris: My favorite piece I have designed and built was a walnut rocking chair that I built whilst at college in London. It was build as a wedding present for my wife so that has a special significance for me.
Meet Andy - Mentor MO2H: What creative outlet do you have outside of work? Andy: Lately I most enjoy mathematics when I am not working. MO2H: How did you get started with woodworking? Andy: One of my first and most formative projects was a steel string acoustic guitar. MO2H: What is your favorite project you've made? Andy: So hard to say, I have a love/hate relationship with many of my art pieces and guitars.
Meet Cassie - Client Experience Specialist MO2H: What creative outlet do you have outside of work? Cassie: I am a painter, mostly working in oil. I usually am painting figurative work that is inspired by the relationship between internet, culture, and mark-making. MO2H: How did you get started with woodworking? Cassie: It started out of the necessity to build my own canvases. My Dad and Grandfather are big woodworkers, so they are also huge inspirations. MO2H: What is your favorite project you've made? Cassie: My favorite was an abstract wood collage/sculpture I made in college, mostly because it was my first experience using many different tools to create it.
