What’s your story? 📚 We all have many stories that define WHO we are and what we become in this life. Are you afraid to share yours out loud? 🙋♀️ There was a time in my life that I was afraid to tell one of my stories. 👫 If I had decided to not tell my “stories”, I would not be the woman I am today, running multiple successful businesses & Living Out Loud!! 💕 I still remember the day over 10 years ago when a man approached me after I had given a presentation to very large corporation on healthy living and he asked me, “what does a young lady like you possibly know about health struggles?” 😳 Before I knew it, I was standing there in tears sharing my cancer story. This was ONE of my stories that I was too scared to tell from the stage. WHY? •It was too emotional. •I didn’t want to cry. •It was too vulnerable. •It was not “professional”. •I thought I was supposed to have it “all together” and not show my scars or weaknesses, especially in business. 💝 I learned a BIG lesson that day. He couldn’t “relate” to my teaching and understand my message & my WHY behind my passion until I SHARED my story! 🌸 From that day forward I pledged to share all of my stories that I had overcome to help others share theirs... 💕 Your story is a pathway to more authentic connection and greater impact. Choose to show up with confidence in who you are so that others can find the same freedom. 💕 WHO can you share your story with today? Where can you make an impact by telling your story? It Matters! 💕 #liveoutloud#purpose#makeanimpact#liveoutloudwithbrooke#dreambigger#liveoutloud#bossbabe#tribe#justdoit#faithoverfear#positivemindset#igniteyourfire#raiseyourvibration#goalminded#intentionallife#wholeheartedliving

Today we remember the 1,134 people who lost their lives (and the 2,500 who where injured) in the Rana Plaza factory disaster in Bangladesh 6 years ago! 😢 . Did you know:. In Bangladesh alone, there are over 5,000 garmet factories (sweatshops!) employing over 4 MILLION people, mostly women! There are over 40 MILLION garmet workers globally!! These workers are NOT given fair wages, safe working environments or fair treatment! They work up to 18 hours a day, most for less than $24 A MONTH!!! . Did you know:. Americans throw away about 70lbs of clothes a YEAR and 3/4 of our landfills are CLOTHING!!!. . So what can WE do? 👉🏼Buy LESS! 👉🏼Choose QUALITY materials! 👉🏼Find brands that CARE about people over profit! 👉🏼 SPEAK UP about the NEED for FAIR treatment and payment of ALL garmet worker! 👉🏼Shop second-hand! 👉🏼Educate yourself: Watch “The True Cost” on Netflix! . #fashionrevolutionweek is about reminding us there are names and faces behind the things we wear— WE DON’T WANT OUT CLOTHES TO EXPLOIT PEOPLE OR DESTROY OUR PLANET!🙅🏼♀️
After our basic food and shelter requirements, our needs become dependent on nourishment from our relationships. There’s one desire we all share: 𝗪𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐝. Whether you are a mother in Topeka or a businessman in Philadelphia, each of us, at our core, longs to be loved, needed, understood, affirmed. To have intimate connections that leave us feeling more alive and human We often hear the advice that it’s important to teach people how to treat us. What is acceptable and unacceptable. It is knowing what we need and want and being able to communicate it effectively to others. “Someone disagreeing with us is not the same as being demeaned, diminished or devalued.” So how can you teach others to treat you well? Start with yourself. The way you believe about and treat yourself sets the standard for others on how you demand to be treated. People learn how to treat you based on what you accept from them. Talk about your “rules of engagement. In order for people in a relationship to be on the same page, they need to have access to the same instruction manual, “Rules of Engagement.” meetings to discuss the “rules” of your relationships. This might include no name calling or yelling during a conversation, and taking a break when tempers flare. Communicate your needs clearly and compassionately. For instance, many couples criticize, yell, or give each other the silent treatment to communicate their needs. This not only is ineffective, but it also hurts your relationship. Model how you’d like to be treated. Be the person you want other people to be. That is, treat others the way you want them to treat you. Have realistic expectations. You don’t teach people how to treat you in a day, it probably takes many months. This process takes lots of practice and patience. And

[Text in English below] ¡No puedo creerlo! . . I can't believe it! It's been only two days since I launched the Arabesque Collection, and it's already running out. Anthuanet -in the photo-, for example, purchased the earrings a few hours after the launch and when she got home, her husband liked them so much that got her the necklace too. Madeleine picked every single design in the collection. What a hit!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #quieroÁlidajoyas#absolutegoddess#warriorspirit#fashionjourney#makeanimpact#arabescos#arabesques#colecciónarabescos
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our fantastic Linden Homes communities who helped with this year's food donations to help nearby food banks provide emergency supplies and assistance to local people who are referred to them in a crisis. “It was fantastic to see the local communities working together! There is often a drive to help charities in the run-up to Christmas and so we wanted to offer some additional support afterwards. We'd like to thank everyone who helped.” Emma Colin, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes South West.
Last night the team I’m on had a personal training with THE @bob_heilig ! Yes you read that correctly 🤩. I was freaking out!! . I’ve been doing this business for over a year now. I’ve learned so much about myself and how to show up on social media. I wish I could put into words what last night, and this past year, has done for me. I’ll give it a shot though. . You see I was looking for purpose, community, an extra income so I could quit my 4 jobs. Yes, I had four jobs at one point 🤷♀️. . I was tired of reading hours for dollars, not many 💵 if I may add. I was tired of not being in control of my own schedule. I was tired of feeling insecure and not knowing why I think the way I do. . I partnered with an Anti-Aging Hair Care company and I found my community. It’s great! Then i started learning about personal development. How it’s SO key for entrepreneurs to do in order to truly have success. I’m finally comfortable in my own skin and I’m unapologetic about it. #comeatme . Now, I’m working my way to financial and time freedom. What stands out about me and my company though? We do things differently 😉. . You see Bob talks about Purpose driven businesses, Impact Goals, and how our businesses are our ASSIGNMENTS FROM GOD! . 🗣 shout that louder for the people in the back 🗣 . We do things differently. I can list all the ways how but that would take up too much time. Honestly, if you want to see God’s hand in your life or you are currently craving what I was before I joined. Type 🙋♀️ in the comments and I’ll reach out to you. . No obligation, no pressure, I just want to bless others the same way i was blessed. Also, there’s nothing wrong in just knowing the information.
As they graze and walk so calmly it’s easy to forget just what a majestic sight these creatures are when seen up close. They deserve to roam free, rather than face a future where the only place we can see them is in our zoos. Climate change is set to have a catastrophic impact on their habitat if it pushes global temperatures up by just 2 degrees. To us it may not seem like much, but to them it’s a matter of survival. It’s our duty to make a stand and to say that this trend must stop. Not only that, but we must pull together to find ways of reversing the damage we have already done. Still not sure what your passion is? GB volunteer, Blakely went on a Medical Brigade in Panama and found just that. "These 4 made the [brigade] such a great experience by helping us with the language barrier. Their patience and knowledge were MUCH appreciated throughout the week. Along with being the best translators, they are all either recently graduated or current dental students of the only public dental school in Panama. To become a dentist in Panama one must attend 6 years of dental school after high school graduation, which may take longer depending on the availability of patients. After the 6 years, a 2 year internship must be completed before the dentist is allowed to practice. Although they spent the week translating for the whole group, they also took extra time to explain what the dentists were doing so that the pre-dental students had a better understanding. This trip taught me many life lessons through the various eye opening experiences, but also that dental practice/techniques are very universal! This trip just furthered my desire to pursue a career in dentistry, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds." So many people have a hard time figuring out their purpose in life, their "destiny," the role they are meant to live out, what they're going to be when they grow up. . But you have to remember that God made you on purpose. For this time. For the people you have in your life. . And if you do not figure out your purpose, the people around you may suffer from not knowing. . The Word says that we (the church) are like a body, no one fills all the roles and not everyone has the same role. What would happen to the body if the eyes were missing? or if the liver isn't functioning properly? The whole body suffers. . It can be tough, it can take a lot of time in prayer and reflection, but discovering what you were made for can 1. bring you peace and purpose, 2. help support those around you - especially the ones you influence like your spouse and children, and 3. it completes the body (the church). . If you don't, you will continue to just survive, day to day, not really making an impact. The people around you will not be as enriched as they could be. The church may not be edified by your gifts. . You were made on purpose. ❤

My #wcw is Hope. Hope is a fellow, on my team. She is a gentle and loving spirit, full of kindness. I have met her twice, but have followed her journey in Uganda and back home these past couple weeks. Hear about this amazing story she told today, about this amazing non-coincidence: **** Last Travel Day, Part 1 NYC I took a Lyft to my dear friend's home to visit. I do not believe in coincidence but instead divine appointments. . My driver was from Uganda and his name is Moses. We had one of those conversations where you recognize one another as kindred spirits and it had a profound impact on me as I return to my own life. . He was thrilled to hear that Sseko Designs is a community that is creating opportunities for brilliant women to earn the money they need to attend university. He cheered and agreed wholeheartedly that an empowered woman in Uganda will effect great change in the lives of those around her. We spoke of the beauty and the heart breaking reality that exist side by side in Uganda. We spoke about the complex issues that are overwhelming and the hope that remains alive in the hearts of many Ugandans despite the odds and the obstacles. . He shared his incredible life story that included great opportunity, joy, tragedy, loss, heart ache, triumph and hard work that has shaped him into the man that he is today. He recognizes the blessings he has received and continues to pursue the education he believes will help him to achieve his dreams. . I am so grateful for our conversation where I was able to hear from a Ugandan man how important and on point Sseko Design is in its efforts to create a sustainable solution to complex issues through community, business and partnership where dignity, education and healthy relationships are the foundation of what is being intentionally built. Validation is such a powerful experience. . #ssekouganda2019#ssekodesigns#globaladventures#makeanimpact#sociallyconsciousfashion

Today, we reflect on the tragic collapse of Rana Plaza that took the lives of over 1,100 people and injured another 2,500 six years ago to date. Most of these victims were young women making clothing for big global fashion brands. Earlier that morning, workers were threatened with loss of their monthly pay if they did not proceed into Rana Plaza to work. Despite the cracks being identified the day before and their requests to not return to the factory floors, without any form of union representation they had no collective strength to stand up for themselves. There were 29 brands identified in the rubble. It would take years for some of them to pay compensation. For some families, providing DNA evidence to claim that compensation, would never be possible. To this day a high percentage of survivors are unemployed and suffer from severe trauma. Never again. Fashion Revolution exists to ensure that no tragedy of this magnitude will ever take place again, and we won’t stop until every garment is made in conditions where workers are safe, fairly treated, and free from gender-based violence or harassment. We won’t stop until every garment is made in a manner that doesn’t pollute the earth or exploit it’s precious natural resources. We won’t stop until fashion supply chains are transparent, provide goods jobs for the people that work in them, and eradicate modern slavery and child labour. Today we think of the true cost of our clothing. We reflect on the tragedy and we use this momentum to forge ahead and create change. Today we encourage you to ask #whomademyclothes, and demand answers. Repost: @Fash_rev
